Joining the delegation of Ho Chi Minh City to visit Truong Sa archipelago and DKI/17 platform were Rear Admiral Pham Nhu Xuan - Deputy Commander of the Navy; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Head of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
Inner strength is love of country
On the way to Truong Sa, ship KN290 took the delegation to visit and encourage officers and soldiers on Sinh Ton, Co Lin, Nui Le B, Toc Tan C, Da Tay B islands, Truong Sa island and DKI/17 platform.
The voyage is even more meaningful as the army and people of Ho Chi Minh City, along with the people of the whole country, are looking forward to celebrating the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of Truong Sa, and the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

During the working trip, the delegation presented many meaningful gifts to the soldiers and people on the islands. At the same time, they provided financial support to the forces stationed on the islands, the DKI/17 platform, the families living on the islands and gave gifts to soldiers who are citizens of Ho Chi Minh City.
On this occasion, the delegation also presented a growing area at the Training Center of Region 2 and six roofed vegetable gardens, 31 sets of solar lights, and facilities to ensure training and study on the islands and DKI/17 platform.
The total cost of organizing the working trip and gifts to care for officers, soldiers and people on the islands and DKI/17 platform is about 42 billion VND.
At each island, the delegation also visited officers and soldiers and brought songs connecting the mainland to the sacred sea and sky of the Fatherland.

Witnessing the special affection of the army and people of Ho Chi Minh City for the cadres and soldiers of Truong Sa, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc expressed his joy at the commitments to support resources for the sacred Truong Sa of the Fatherland.
Sharing with each member participating in the cruise, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee said that each person, no matter what agency, unit, or field of work they work in, has one thing in common: deep down, each person has an inner strength of love for their homeland, a very deep love for the Fatherland. And that love, when given the opportunity, is promoted more strongly, especially when joining in the atmosphere of special days of the country.
"I hope that you will continue to promote many new values when meeting and directly encouraging the officers, soldiers and working forces in Truong Sa, contributing to your agencies and units, having many initiatives to participate in the program For the homeland's seas and islands - For the frontline of the Fatherland , becoming typical individuals, propagandists to inspire, connect and motivate people of all walks of life towards the homeland's seas and islands" - Mr. Loc said.

Rear Admiral Pham Nhu Xuan - Deputy Commander of the Navy - also shared that this was a trip filled with emotions and feelings of the army and people of the city named after Uncle Ho with the sea and islands and the soldiers of the Vietnam People's Navy, aiming to commemorate special events of the country.
"Those sentiments have a truly important meaning, contributing to creating great motivation for each of us naval officers and soldiers to continue to overcome all difficulties, hardships, and dangers, unite as one, stand firm at the forefront, and fulfill the extremely glorious responsibility assigned by the Party, State, and Fatherland," said Mr. Xuan.
Quietly contributing to society
On the journey to Truong Sa, hundreds of delegates from Ho Chi Minh City are outstanding individuals in many fields, working day and night, studying, contributing to their agencies, units, and localities, joining in the development of Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to society.
Mr. Ngo Van Du (currently working as a security guard for a bank in Ho Chi Minh City) with a record of 111 whole blood donations inspires with his silent contributions to society.
For over 27 years, he has been donating blood at the hospital every three months, on average four times a year. "I never expected that my quiet work would bring me the honor of being able to visit the officers and soldiers of Truong Sa with the delegation today, and to set foot on the sacred islands of the Fatherland that I had only seen through news and images on the radio and television before," he said emotionally.
After the journey, Mr. Du said he will have the responsibility to spread love for his homeland, love for his homeland's sea and islands to young people.

With outstanding achievements in the fight against the epidemic, teacher Nguyen Thi Duyen Hong (principal of Bong Sen Kindergarten) was also selected as a delegate to participate in this voyage.
Moved and proud to set foot on each island, Ms. Duyen Hong composed many poems dedicated to the officers and soldiers of Truong Sa with the message that they should rest assured working on the remote islands, while on the mainland there is a solid rear base to contribute and unite to build the country.

49 years ago, at 11:30 on April 30, 1975, the flag of the Liberation Army flew on the roof of the Independence Palace. The Ho Chi Minh Campaign was completely victorious, and Vietnam was unified.
49 years later, at 11:30 a.m. on April 30, 2024, the red flag with a yellow star fluttered in the sky of Truong Sa. Attending the special flag-raising ceremony, the delegation was moved to sing the National Anthem in the middle of the ocean and listen to the 10 honorable oaths of soldiers in the Vietnam People's Army.
On Truong Sa Island, the army and people on the island, along with delegates from Ho Chi Minh City, attended a rally to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the liberation of Truong Sa Archipelago (April 29, 1975 - April 29, 2024) and the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024).
Recalling the memory in May 2011, at that time Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc was the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, he came to give gifts to the delegation of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union visiting Truong Sa archipelago.
That day, when Tuoi Tre newspaper launched the program "Contribute Stones to Build Truong Sa", they interviewed him with the article "The most precious stone is patriotism" . Recalling the feelings of that day, he shared that "the most precious stone is patriotism in every Vietnamese child", contributing stones is not only contributing money and material, but more importantly, it is arousing in each person's heart a strong love for the Fatherland, towards the sea and islands - the front line of the Fatherland.
