It is the handprint of a person estimated to be about 1,800 years old. Photo: @ Bayar University. These three handprints were printed on a terracotta tile that was used to cover the floor of a worker who produced the tile. Photo: @ Bayar University.
Associate Professor Dr. Yusuf Sezgin, a lecturer at the Department of Archaeology, Bayar University, said that the brickmaker may have accidentally left a handprint before the brick dried, and eventually left three handprints on it. According to Sezgin, such examples are rare in Greece. Photo: @ Bayar University. In-depth examination and research of the handprints on the bricks are still underway, hoping to reveal more new information about indigenous life in the ancient city of Aigai nearly 2,000 years ago.
