Urban highlights

After four months of operation, Ao Ca Park (Ward 2, Vung Tau City) has become an attractive destination. This place not only has a cool green space but also has a spacious parking lot, serving both locals and tourists. For locals, this park is an ideal public activity place: adults can walk and exercise; those who love fishing have a place to drop their fishing rods; children can play in the slide and swing area...

In recent months, although the project to renovate Thuy Van street has not been completed, people and tourists still flock to check-in, have fun, enjoy the cool breeze and exercise in this area.

Mr. Doan Hai Linh, Acting Director of the Vung Tau City Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that the project to renovate Thuy Van Street, stretching over 3km, will be built into a unique and liberal beach park. The entire park is designed to be interconnected, creating a large open space facing the sea. This will also be the place to organize large-scale outdoor events of the province and city such as music festivals, light shows, rallies, exhibitions, fireworks viewing, New Year's Eve celebrations, etc., becoming an indispensable part of the tourist's journey.

Previously, Vung Tau City had a series of large-scale parks, creating highlights for the city such as: Front Beach Park, Back Beach Park, Quang Trung - Ha Long - Le Loi Park, Mui Nghinh Phong Park, Le Loi - Hoang Hoa Tham - Le Quy Don Park, Tran Hung Dao Park. In addition, there are many smaller-scale parks located in residential areas, new urban areas invested and built by enterprises and parks in the premises of agencies and offices.

In particular, Bai Truoc Park was built in 1999 and is the first park in the city. The park stretches along the coast of Bai Truoc along Quang Trung Street with an area of nearly 10,000m², creating a relaxing space in front of the sea for people and acting as a "shield" to prevent sand and waves from entering the central area.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Thuy, Vice Chairman of Vung Tau City People's Committee, said that in the context of rapid urbanization and increasingly cramped spaces, the need to enjoy green spaces is becoming more and more urgent. After a stressful day of studying and working, urban residents need to immerse themselves in nature, exercise, socialize and enjoy fresh air in parks. This is where community activities and entertainment take place, meeting the social communication needs of the people.

Plan more parks

In addition to existing parks, Vung Tau City is planning many new park projects, stretching from the coast into urban areas. Specifically, Bau Sen Park project is expected to be implemented in the period 2026-2030. This is an important project of the city, in addition to the function of regulating and drainage lake, it also creates public space and corridor connecting the two areas of Bai Truoc - Bai Sau. Items in this park include: playgrounds, walking paths, squares, landscape lakes, commercial service areas and housing. Currently, the city is adjusting the detailed planning at a scale of 1/500 for Bau Sen Park, on an area of 32 hectares of land and 18 hectares of water surface.

Recently, Sun Group Corporation has started construction of the 3/2 Street urban area, with the highlight being a large water park considered the "heart of the project". The 19-hectare park is divided into 4 sub-areas bearing strong cultural and historical imprints including: Recreating the Southern cultural space with floating markets, fishing villages, and basket boats. Suggesting the "Silk Road Journey" on the sea. Taking visitors back in time to the Oc Eo - Phu Nam culture. Discovering the rich forest with the Southern river ecosystem and pristine nature.

In particular, the park owns the largest double wave pool in Vietnam (waves 1.8m and 2.4m high) and a roller coaster with impressive length in the Asia- Pacific region (over 300m), promising to attract millions of domestic and foreign tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Thuy affirmed that, for a tourist city like Vung Tau, parks are becoming more and more necessary, especially multi-functional parks that can organize large events and combine with tourism products. Despite limited land fund, the city always focuses on planning and investing in parks in a systematic manner throughout the construction and development process.
