This is how to change CCCD according to new location on VNeID

On August 12, the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order, Ministry of Public Security, informed that the issuance of new ID cards when changing administrative boundaries is applied to cases where the card is still valid and still displays the old administrative unit. People can make requests on the VNeID application, and receive a new card after 7 working days.

According to the authorities, this CCCD change also comes with some benefits such as fee exemption when choosing the correct reason “due to administrative unit arrangement/adjustment”. In addition, people can flexibly schedule, track status, receive results at the authorities or by post.

Once you have a level 2 identification account and updated to the latest version of the application, people can submit online requests to local authorities following the steps below.

Step 1: Log in to the application. On the main screen interface, in the Service Group section, select Administrative Procedures. Then continue to the Public Service section, click on Issue and change ID card and enter the passcode.

Select Card issuance in the Administrative Procedures section.

Step 2: Click Create new request. Here the screen displays the option to request a change for yourself or declare for someone else.

For self-declaration, the system will automatically fill in basic information, including full name, date of birth, personal identification number and phone number. Users need to check again and then click to check information so that the system can compare with the National Database.

The declaration for relatives requires entering the relationship with the person needing to renew the ID card, as well as related information of this person in the sections marked with "*".

Step 3: The system continues to display the agency selection and appointment setting screen. In the reason section, select “due to administrative unit arrangement/adjustment”.

Citizens can choose the implementation level by Ward/Commune, or Province/City, to be implemented at the place of permanent residence, or current residence and work agency. To schedule an arrival date, citizens choose the days that are not highlighted in red or gray. After seeing the green circle around the desired date, press OK.

People need to fill in all information and check again after completion.

After completing, press continue, the screen displays confirmation of the profile information. People check again and check the box to confirm the declaration. Finally, save and go to the registered agency on the scheduled date.
