The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that today, August 16, the weather in the Northeast, Lao Cai , Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms. Rainfall from last night to the end of today is generally 60-130mm, with some places having very heavy rain over 300mm.

Also from last night until today, the Central Highlands and the South will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms. Rainfall is generally 50-100mm, with some places experiencing very heavy rain over 200mm.

At sea, the low pressure area in the central East Sea is moving slowly in a north-northwest direction and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression.

The meteorological agency warns that the entire sea area of our country is experiencing storms and high waves. Ships should take precautions and take shelter.
