Promote cooperation and association in production and consumption of agricultural products

Implementing Decree No. 98/2018/ND-CP of the Government on policies to encourage and develop cooperation and association in the production and consumption of agricultural products, in recent times, the agricultural sector has worked with localities to implement many association models for key crops. Thereby gradually increasing the quality and value of agricultural products.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, through production linkage, a number of highly effective models have emerged, such as: The corn seed value chain linkage model implemented in Phuoc Vinh commune (Ninh Phuoc), with a scale of 80 hectares, chaired by Phuoc An Agricultural Service Cooperative, in association with CP Seed Company Limited, achieved a yield of 73 quintals/ha, a selling price of 8,500 VND/kg of fresh corn with cob, a profit of 35.890 million VND/ha, 20.595 million VND/ha higher than mass corn production. Or the asparagus value chain linkage model implemented in An Hai commune (Ninh Phuoc), with a scale of 35 hectares, chaired by Tuan Tu General Service Cooperative in association with Tien Tien Organic Agricultural Farm, producing according to the large-field model. As the host, the cooperative signed a direct contract with the enterprise supplying asparagus seeds, paying 30% in advance and the remaining amount upon harvest and purchasing all asparagus products of the cooperatives at an average price of 50,000 VND/kg. Participating in the model, people earn a profit of 300-320 million VND/ha/year. The aloe vera value chain linkage model in the province has 2 linkages to organize production, processing and consumption of products, with a scale of 67 ha/274 households and Bac Son Cooperative, chaired and consumed by Canh Dong Viet Food Joint Stock Company, initially linked to consume 11,590 tons of aloe vera for households, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction for areas that have faced many difficulties and disadvantages in production conditions in Thuan Bac district.

The model of linking according to the grape value chain, currently in the province there are 4 linked chains, with a scale of 90 hectares/251 households; the form of linking is supplying materials, organizing production, associated with the consumption of 1,350 tons of grapes. This link has helped households participating in production have a stable income and continue to link and invest in production in the coming time. In addition, grape growing combined with eco-tourism has been developed by Thai An Agricultural Cooperative, Ba Moi Grape Farm, Hoang Yen Grape Farm, Tri Ha Grape Farm, ... this is a model that is attracting an increasing number of tourists to Ninh Thuan to visit and experience.

Currently, the province is implementing 61 value chain crop production linkages with a total scale of 14,327 hectares with the participation of nearly 16,600 households. Of which, 45 linkage chains are chaired by cooperatives and 16 linkage chains are chaired by enterprises, which have linked production of key crops with local strengths such as: rice, corn seeds, grapes, apples, asparagus, aloe vera, sugarcane, cassava, chili, garlic, shallots, etc. Localities have approved 22 projects and 19 linkage plans with a total support budget of more than 15.4 billion VND to implement large-scale field production linkages, infrastructure support, agricultural extension work, training, support for materials, plant varieties, packaging, and product labels. In 2023, relevant units and localities will organize the signing of 9 economic contracts linking distribution and consumption units with agricultural production, processing and trading entities, aiming at export in the coming time.

Mr. Dang Kim Cuong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said: In order to effectively implement the forms of organization, production linkage and management in agricultural production, in the coming time, the unit will coordinate with units and localities to innovate production organization in the direction of cooperation and close linkage along the value chain from production to consumption. Form concentrated production areas, specializing in key products, in order to create products with uniform design and quality. Replicating effective forms of production organization and value chains suitable for each locality. Strengthening the transfer of technical advances, science and technology into production, especially VietGAP production processes, applying greenhouse technology, water-saving irrigation, clean and organic agricultural production; applying technology in harvesting, preserving, preliminary processing and packaging products. Supporting the formation and development of agricultural cooperatives in the province; Improve the quality and efficiency of household economic models associated with linkages to concentrate land, specialized production, and create large-scale commodity products. Develop farm economy in agricultural production fields with linkages and cooperation with enterprises and cooperatives according to value chains to exploit the potential of land, labor, capital, production experience, etc. of the people. Continue to call on and encourage large enterprises inside and outside the province to invest in production, processing, and consumption of agricultural products of the province; coordinate with units and localities to focus on removing difficulties and obstacles, creating favorable conditions for investors in implementing projects on production, processing, and consumption of agricultural products.
