In the first half of August 2024, Chu Lai port welcomed 35 ships to the port, transporting goods: auto parts, mechanics, fruits, cassava starch, pellets, wood chips, minerals, household goods, furniture, garments... for businesses in the Central and Central Highlands regions, including many FDI enterprises.
Currently, the port is focusing on exploiting sources of goods with much room for development in the Central Highlands (Vietnam), Laos, Cambodia such as agricultural products, minerals... for export to markets in China, Japan, Korea, gradually developing Chu Lai port into an international cargo transit center.
To attract customers, Chu Lai Port has implemented many synchronous solutions to expand its scale of operations, improve and upgrade its full-package logistics service chain. The port has strengthened cooperation with international shipping lines to exploit routes from Chu Lai Port to countries in the Northeast Asia region at optimal costs. At the same time, it has researched and developed market strategies, promoted marketing, and focused on potential customer groups to increase output and goods sources.
In the coming time, the port will continue to review and evaluate the effectiveness of services, thereby making reasonable adjustments to improve quality at each stage; actively support customers in carrying out customs procedures.
In the first 7 months of 2024, the port's cargo volume reached more than 2.2 million tons, up 16% over the same period last year. It is expected that in 2024, the volume will reach 4.5 million tons.
