Accordingly, the goal of accelerating the implementation of a food traceability system is considered a pillar to make the supply chain transparent, protect consumers and enhance business reputation. The focus is on standardizing data, applying QR codes and operating synchronously on a digital platform.
Food traceability systems are being deployed for many essential food groups.
Specifically, for pork: from the farm or slaughter, packaging to distribution to the market, QR codes are attached, helping consumers clearly check the origin and supplier. Beef and chicken: from the slaughter stage, ensuring quarantine procedures, increasing reliability for school and restaurant kitchens. Poultry eggs: clearly traceable from the farm to the distribution point, especially applied in supermarkets and school kitchens.
The application of QR coding technology and supply chain management via electronic platforms has brought about clear results in preventing risks and making it easy to trace when food incidents occur.
In 2025, training courses on system operation will continue to be held for staff in charge of kindergarten and supermarket kitchens, focusing on data updating operations, ensuring that the “import - export - service” process has a digital trace. In these training courses, units are given detailed instructions on how to create accounts, declare product information, print and use QR codes to manage product origin.
The Food Safety Management Board recommends that production and business establishments urgently register accounts and affix traceability stamps to their products; schools and collective kitchens implement input control via QR codes; and consumers prioritize scanning codes when shopping to jointly build a transparent, safe, and smart food market.
It is known that the food traceability software in Da Nang has been applied to 4 supply chains, including 26 pork supply chain facilities, 4 beef supply chain facilities, 15 chicken supply chain facilities and 10 chicken egg supply chain facilities.
