The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has just sent Official Note No. 105/CH-BNN-HTQT to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China proposing to consider adding a number of fruits, types, aquatic products and a number of enterprises permitted to export aquatic products to China.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development stated that, in order to implement the common perception between the two countries' senior leaders in the "Vietnam - China Joint Statement on continuing to promote and deepen the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership" in 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development sent a working delegation led by the Ministry's leaders to work with the People's Government and the Customs Departments of Guangxi and Yunnan provinces (China) from May 29 to June 2, 2023, to promote cooperation and increase agricultural trade turnover between the two countries through the gateways of provinces sharing land borders.

Based on the working content, the working delegation agreed with the Customs of Guangxi and Yunnan provinces (China) to coordinate and propose to the General Department of Customs of China to soon complete the procedures for signing the "Protocol between the General Department of Customs of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam on food safety requirements, quarantine and inspection of aquatic products imported and exported between Vietnam and China".
Consider adding some fruits, species, aquatic products and some enterprises allowed to export aquatic products to China that have been inspected by Vietnamese authorities and meet the requirements according to regulations 248, 249 of Chinese Customs and propose.
Allowing the export of live seafood through border gates in Yunnan province to reduce customs clearance pressure between border gates and create maximum convenience for businesses.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also requested the General Administration of Customs of China to direct the Customs Departments of Guangxi and Yunnan provinces to increase exchanges of professional procedures; update information to promptly handle problems and improve customs clearance capacity.
Organize annual rotating meetings in November every year between the Provincial Customs Department and Vietnamese authorities; assign focal units to regularly contact and exchange work .
