Proposal for Vietnam Innovation Network in Silicon Valley to expand membership

DNVVN - At a working session with the Vietnam Innovation Network in Silicon Valley on June 22, San Francisco time (USA), Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung suggested that the network continue to connect to expand the participation of new members.

Speaking at the meeting, a representative of the Vietnam Innovation Network in Silicon Valley (Network) reported on the Network's performance over the past year, and introduced the trend of artificial intelligence (AI) in Silicon Valley and venture capital activities in the field of AI.

The members of the Network exchanged and discussed frankly and enthusiastically about implementing their activities. They gave suggestions for Vietnam to develop an innovation ecosystem, develop the semiconductor industry, AI...

At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung acknowledged the efforts of coordination and connection of the Network. Especially the participation in major programs and projects of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the National Innovation Center (NIC). Specifically, the Project on Human Resource Development for the Semiconductor Industry to 2030 with a vision to 2050; Project on AI Training and Research Center; Vietnam Innovation Challenge Program.

Minister Nguyen Chi Dung acknowledged the efforts of the Network in participating in major programs and projects of the Ministry of Planning and NIC.

“These are large, important projects for Vietnam, which will create tens of thousands of technology engineers and AI engineers to serve future needs. The participation and contribution of the Network, along with the strong and drastic implementation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Government , will create specific, practical results that will be beneficial to Vietnam in the long term,” said Mr. Dung.

Mr. Dung suggested that Network members continue to actively participate and proactively coordinate with the National Innovation Center (NIC), especially during the implementation phase. Along with that, continue to connect to expand the participation of new members.

It is the participation of Vietnamese and international experts and intellectuals who are interested in and want to learn about the market, investment opportunities, and cooperation in innovation and technology in Vietnam. On the basis of bringing long-term benefits to the country.

Regarding the activities and projects being implemented at NIC such as semiconductor training and AI training, the Minister of Planning and Investment suggested that Network members promote connections with the world's leading experts and institutes/schools with appropriate resources that can support Vietnam in implementing these activities.

Currently, NIC is putting into operation a facility in Hoa Lac (nearly 20,000m2) with many special incentives for partners operating at the center. Network members can coordinate with the center to connect with major US technology partners - companies interested in the Vietnamese market, can establish research units, offices, laboratories, and factories at NIC Hoa Lac.
