Learn skills to become a “digital citizen”
Sharing at the Conference, Ms. Nguyen Vu Thanh Quy, Head of Media Solutions, Beat Network said that every young person today needs to equip themselves with digital skills to become a “digital citizen”. Accordingly, young people need to have a certain level of knowledge and proficiency in technology, understand the reality of the virtual world and digital culture, understand digital media laws and be careful in communication.
“Therefore, digital transformation has become a catalyst for youth start-up activities, helping to accelerate the process of changing working methods and production based on digital technology platforms, helping to increase labor productivity, reduce costs, and create new values beyond traditional values. For businesses and start-ups, this direction is almost mandatory for survival and development,” said Ms. Quy.
According to Ms. Quy, the Internet has created a completely new digital era, opening up opportunities for businesses and startups everywhere, from rural, mountainous areas to urban areas. Business owners can sit in one place to organize connections and trade to many places without being limited by geographical factors. When changing and expanding physical space, it will require a delay to respond to the market. Through digital architecture, developing services, products as well as digital value chains, businesses can quickly restructure, expand, add new or upgrade as well as reduce the scale and scope of business operations easily.
“Currently, Vietnam has many medium, small or micro enterprises, they face many difficulties in digital transformation. Therefore, building a methodical digital transformation plan in each stage is an urgent requirement to help businesses understand, apply and successfully manage value chains. In particular, this role and responsibility is expected more from the younger generation,” Ms. Quy expressed.
To start a business and develop sustainably, Ms. Dinh Nguyen Thi Huong - Communications Director of SABECO also affirmed that young people need to harmonize and link sustainable development internally and externally to the community, starting from small things but importantly, they must be suitable to the scale and industry of the business. Especially, they must find consensus and support from local people.
Autonomous "breath" of digital transformation
Technology in the life of modern youth has been compared by Ms. Nguyen Vu Thanh Quy to “breath” for each person. Although it is said that they have a lower concentration ability than previous generations, modern youth have outstanding advantages shaped by the advantages of the digital age, which can make previous generations shake their heads in “give up” such as digital skills, the ability to process information quickly...
Going deeper and analyzing a digital tool that has been causing a stir among young people recently to supplement Ms. Thanh Quy's comments, Mr. Le Cong Thanh - Director of Information Selection Technology Joint Stock Company (Infore) mentioned ChatGPT.
According to Mr. Le Cong Thanh, ChatGPT is one of the products representing the line of software integrated with modern artificial intelligence, capable of generating information and synthesizing powerful knowledge. This new generation of software provides users with unlimited creativity, multilingual on common data types such as images, sounds, text, so that workers can solve almost all tasks in society in new ways, meeting the needs of the open market at the global level.

It can be said that young workers in Vietnam are facing a rare opportunity to catch up with workers in developed countries at the same time, when they have only had a few months of access to these new forms of technology products.
“Therefore, in my opinion, young workers in Vietnam should actively acquire the skills to use ChatGPT and similar software, actively impart and share these new skills with many relatives and friends to help themselves, everyone and the whole society develop strongly,” Mr. Thanh recommended.
Expanding further, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Van - Head of the Central Youth Union's Rural Youth Department said that digital technology helps users optimize work processes, reduce production time and costs, and increase the ability to respond and interact quickly with customers.
As young people start small startups, digital technology will help analyze data and information, helping to better understand customer behavior and needs.
“This helps young people customize the direction and goals of their products/services according to the needs and desires of customers. From there, they expand the market, easily access international markets and create export opportunities,” said Ms. Van.
