Parents need to accompany their children in using the internet.

At the end of March, social networking sites were abuzz about a product promotion activity organized by a cooperative at Youth Park (Hoa Binh city). What caused fierce debate among netizens was the appearance of a number of guests attending the program who were content creators and influencers on the social networking platform Tiktok. Notably, these individuals emerged from entertainment videos with bad, toxic, and unhealthy content. The above activity attracted the participation of many students, teenagers, and young people. Many children also asked to take photos with Tiktokers as souvenirs. This is like a warning bell for parents to more closely manage their children's access to content when using electronic devices and social networks at home.

In fact, without the care and supervision of adults, children who are free and comfortable using the internet will easily access many harmful contents. From there, it will negatively impact their perception, psychology and behavior, causing unpredictable consequences. The content on the internet is very rich, from useful, meaningful information to harmful information, contrary to ethical standards, laws, horror images, violence, superstition... In today's life, digital technology develops rapidly, anyone can be affected by harmful content on the internet, not just children. However, children, adolescents and teenagers are a special group, not yet aware and able to control their behavior. At the same time, they are not able to distinguish between useful and age-appropriate content. Therefore, guiding,educating , managing and supervising children to use the internet in a safe and healthy way is extremely necessary.

Another case shows the lack of care and indifference of adults, allowing deviant models and behaviors to gradually creep into children's thoughts, perceptions, and immature souls, and potentially shape their future. In mid-December 2024, VDBK and LNBM, both born in 2007, residing in Phong Phu commune (Tan Lac), violated the provisions of the Road Traffic Law by riding a motorbike with one wheel instead of a two-wheeled vehicle, and then posting the video clip on social networks. Immediately afterwards, local authorities quickly summoned, verified, and handled the case according to the law. What if video clips and images with harmful content were widely shared, and then teenagers learned and followed those things?

Children exposed to useless, harmful, non-constructive or non-educational content at an early age will gradually form distorted beliefs about human behavior, moral values ​​and lifestyle. Of course, no one prohibits entertainment and relaxation, but there must be clear limits and standards.

In recent times, all levels, sectors and localities in the province have always focused on the work of protecting, caring for and educating children, including protecting children in cyberspace. However, the most important role is still the role of parents and caregivers in accompanying, protecting, listening and sheltering their children when they encounter any difficulties, and guiding them on how to handle situations appropriate to their age. Adults need to be more proactive in creating a "shield" to protect children's safety from the dangers of the cyber environment, avoiding cases where consequences have occurred and it is too late to care for and manage their children. Families, schools and the whole society need to join hands so that the young generation - the future owners of the country - can develop comprehensively in morality - intelligence - physique - aesthetics, have correct thinking, awareness and behavior, and strive to become good citizens, useful to society.
