Proposal to support people with up to 2.5 million VND to install rooftop solar power

(QNgTV) - The Ministry of Industry and Trade is seeking comments on the Prime Minister's draft decision on policies to support households in installing self-generating and self-consuming rooftop solar power systems and electricity storage systems. According to the proposal, each household can receive a maximum support of VND 2.5 million along with many other preferential policies.

Specifically, the government will support the investment cost of self-consumption rooftop solar power systems at the rate of VND500,000 for each 1 kWp of installed capacity. However, the total support amount will not exceed VND2.5 million/household. The policy is expected to be effective until January 1, 2031.

In addition to direct support, people can access preferential loans from commercial banks to invest in solar power systems. The maximum loan limit is 7 million VND/kWp, but not exceeding 35 million VND/household. The proposed loan interest rate is equal to the short-term loan rate of banks, with a maximum interest rate support period of 3 years, calculated from the date of loan disbursement according to the credit contract.

To receive financial support, households need to submit an application for financial support to the People's Committee of the commune where the household installs the household solar power system; have completed all procedures for development, investment, installation, connection, acceptance and operation of the household solar power system in accordance with regulations; and use the supported financial resources for the right purposes.
