On August 5, the Office of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee sent an official dispatch to relevant departments and branches to study and report on the document of the Sun Airport Joint Stock Company regarding the request for investment proposal for the Phan Thiet Airport Project, for the civil aviation category.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction, the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant departments and branches to study, review, organize appraisal of reports, and advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve the proposal of Sun Airport Joint Stock Company in accordance with legal regulations.

Previously, Sun Airport Joint Stock Company sent a document to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requesting an investment proposal for the Phan Thiet Airport Project, for the civil aviation category.

In addition, the company proposed to convert the project investment form from BOT to business investment form according to the provisions of the Investment Law . In addition, some special public assets of Phan Thiet airport are used jointly between the military and the civil, ensuring effective exploitation of invested assets.

This unit also proposed to start the project on August 19, 2025.
