At a recent dialogue conference between businesses and the Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance, many businesses employing foreign workers reported that these workers faced difficulties when completing procedures to receive one-time social insurance benefits.
Representative of DAIKIN AIR CONDITIONING VIETNAM Joint Stock Company (Ward 4, District 3) requested Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance to support and guide foreigners in registering to receive one-time social insurance benefits.
Businesses request to build a separate process for foreigners returning home, identifying this as a priority case, not requiring online appointment.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has about 30,000 foreigners granted work permits (Illustration: Pham Nguyen).
According to Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance, the instructions for registering to receive one-time social insurance for foreigners have been clearly stated in Section 2 of the Procedure for handling one-time social insurance applications for foreigners (issued with Notice No. 4077/TB-BHXH dated August 3, 2023 of Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance).
The above procedure has detailed the components of the dossier and necessary documents to process foreign workers' one-time social insurance benefits. Readers can see detailed instructions HERE.
The above procedure also clearly stipulates the method of submitting documents for foreign workers, which is to submit documents directly to Thu Duc City Social Insurance or District Social Insurance.
Regarding the priority of not having to make an appointment online, Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance said: "Currently, there are no regulations on giving priority to getting a queue number, nor giving priority to not having to make an appointment for cases where foreigners contact to process their documents."
