The recipe for this mystical love potion, which dates back more than 200 years, consists of only pepper, chilli, cardamom and sugar. Grind these ingredients together in a mortar and pestle, then mix with a small glass of wine.
One museum visitor said "I want to learn how to make medicine at home, I don't know if my husband will like this or not but anyway we are excited to try this together".
Known as Hintz House, the first pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca opened in this museum in 1573. This medieval pharmacy has been a haven for apothecaries for nearly 450 years.
The Pharmacy Museum today houses a large collection of organic and mineral specimens that pharmacists used to treat diseases hundreds of years ago. In a small underground space, most of the poultices and healing formulas were prepared by pharmacists in this secret room.
