Couple struck by lightning while working in the fields, one person died

On the evening of June 4, Mr. Phan Van Thuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Dien commune, said that this couple lives in Vinh Phuong commune (Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province).

The local authorities are verifying the identities of these two people.

Initial information, the wife is from Dien Dien so the two have a farm here. Around 3 pm that day, when returning from the farm, the two got caught in the rain so they stopped to put on raincoats.

Suddenly, lightning struck the couple, killing the wife on the spot. The injured husband was discovered by locals and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Local leaders recommend that people should not go outside when they see thunderstorms or lightning. If you are outdoors, stay away from tall trees, do not stand on hilltops, do not stand on open land, and throw away metal objects on your person...
