Activities about the source, political activities at the Traditional House of Can Tho City Police at the Southern Central Bureau, Tay Ninh.
The historical site of the Southern Central Bureau Base is located in Tay Ninh province, close to the Vietnam - Cambodia border. This place is also known by many other names such as R (code name of the Southern Central Bureau), Chang Riec Base, Pham Hung Base, or North Tay Ninh Base. During the two resistance wars against France and the US, the Southeast in general and Tay Ninh in particular were important strategic areas. The North Tay Ninh Base was the location of the Southern revolutionary headquarters for a long time, directly directing and leading the Southern revolution until the day the South was completely liberated.
The Central Office for Southern Vietnam was re-established on January 23, 1961, according to the decision of the 3rd Conference of the Party Central Committee (term III), to replace the Southern Regional Party Committee and assume the highest leadership role of the Party in the Southern battlefield. This is the place associated with the achievements of senior leaders such as Pham Hung, Le Duan, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Nguyen Van Linh, and Vo Van Kiet. During its 15 years of operation (1961-1975), the Central Office for Southern Vietnam held 15 congresses and issued hundreds of directives and resolutions, becoming the nerve center directing the revolutionary people's war in the South, concretizing many policies and decisions of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh into the revolutionary practice in the South.
With special values in terms of history, culture, science and military, on May 10, 2012, the Prime Minister decided to rank the Southern Central Bureau Base Historical Site as a Special National Relic.
In the Central Southern Bureau Historical Relic Complex, units have built traditional houses to serve the political and ideological education of officers and soldiers. In 2024, after completing the restoration and repair of items, the Can Tho City Police Traditional House youth project was inaugurated. Located in the Central Southern Bureau campus, the project ensures solemnity, meeting the needs of visiting and traditional activities for officers and soldiers. At the same time, it is also a place to preserve valuable images and artifacts about the formation, fighting and important events of the Central Southern Bureau. This is a vivid demonstration of the attention and efforts of the Can Tho City Police in preserving and promoting historical values.
For the officers and soldiers of Can Tho City Police, political activities are organized regularly and solemnly. Each trip to the "red address" of the Southern Central Bureau Historical Site and the Can Tho City Police Traditional House is a sacred meeting place of memories and ideals. This is also an opportunity for officers and soldiers to review the glorious tradition, remember and honor the great contributions and sacrifices of heroes and martyrs. Thereby, it contributes greatly to educating revolutionary traditions and ideals, motivating officers and soldiers to voluntarily study, practice, improve their political qualities, be responsible, wholeheartedly serve the Fatherland and the people, and be worthy of the trust of the Party, the State and the people.
