Localities with high spring crop tillage rates in Ha Tinh

Thanks to proactive production and favorable weather, up to this point, localities in Duc Tho ( Ha Tinh ) have basically completed the land preparation stage to prepare for the 2024 spring crop production.

Taking advantage of the warm sunny weather, farmers in Lam Trung Thuy commune went to the fields to plow and prepare for spring crop production.

In the spring crop of 2024, Lam Trung Thuy commune plans to cultivate 910 hectares. With the view of continuing to maintain and expand the production of large fields, fields that have broken the banks and land borders in the direction of goods and mobilizing maximum mechanization, for nearly a month now, the commune has mobilized farmers to go to the fields to prepare the land, starting the spring crop early.

Farmers in Lam Trung Thuy commune are building banks and clearing water-retaining beds to prepare for spring crop production.

Mr. Dinh Van Dung in Tuong Van village, Lam Trung Thuy commune said: "My family cultivates more than 1 hectare of rice fields. Recently, taking advantage of the sunny weather and available water in the fields, I have focused on plowing and breaking the entire spring crop land area. Now I am just waiting for the local crop calendar to plant the seeds."

Not only Mr. Dung's family, at this time, the entire rice fields of Lam Trung Thuy commune have basically completed the land preparation, the new soil has been plowed, dried in the sun, ready for planting. According to farmers, early land preparation and careful plowing not only helps farmers take the initiative in the season but also cleans the grass and eradicates many types of pests that harm rice.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho - Chairman of Lam Trung Thuy Commune People's Committee said: "As one of the key rice communes of the district, for the spring crop, the Party Committee and local authorities pay special attention to implementation. Based on the general project, the commune has established its own spring crop production project and deployed it to the villages. Currently, Lam Trung Thuy is the commune with the fastest land preparation progress in the district. We are directing cooperatives and production teams to mobilize irrigation and dredging of intra-field canals; requesting cooperatives to provide sufficient water to facilitate people in land preparation. This spring crop, the commune strives for a rice yield of 6.3 tons/ha; output of 5,733 tons".

In An Dung commune, the 2024 spring crop is expected to produce 718 hectares of rice, of which 150 hectares are arranged in large fields. The commune has structured 3 main varieties: Nep 98, Bac Thinh and Huong Binh. Ms. Tran Thi Tinh - officer in charge of Agriculture - Environment of An Dung commune said: "To increase the quality of rice production, the locality has developed a policy to support 50% of the seed price to encourage people to produce. For nearly a month, taking advantage of favorable weather, the commune has directed agricultural cooperatives and production teams to mobilize people to go to the fields to prepare the soil and compost. Up to now, more than 90% of the land area has been plowed and broken cages".

Farmers in Dong Dung village, An Dung commune, started dredging canals to prepare for spring crop production.

According to the plan, this spring crop, Duc Tho district will cultivate 6,387 hectares, of which high-quality rice varieties account for over 90% of the total area. To continue having a comprehensive crop, Duc Tho has directed localities to structure new varieties of high-yield, high-quality varieties associated with concentrated production, land accumulation; production on large-scale fields, associated with product consumption linkages. In particular, the district focuses on managing the supply of seeds, fertilizers and agricultural materials to avoid the situation of poor-quality fertilizers and agricultural materials entering the market, causing losses to farmers.

The whole Duc Tho district has plowed and cleared over 90% of the area.

Mr. Bui Khac Phong - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Duc Tho district said: "In the 2024 spring crop, the district will focus on selecting high-yield and good-quality varieties for production. Along with including high-quality, potential, and large-scale rice varieties in the project, the district will also proactively coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen inspection and supervision of suppliers of seeds, fertilizers, and agricultural materials. In particular, this year, the district will mobilize localities to go to the fields early to prepare the land, plow carefully, and proactively plan spring crop production. Up to this point, over 90% of the district's production area has completed the land preparation stage, the earliest in the whole province".

During the production process, Duc Tho district will also direct localities to closely follow the project, specify the contents in accordance with the reality of each locality, strengthen the inspection and supervision of production processes, focus on investigating and forecasting the situation of pests and diseases, and strive to complete the targets and tasks for the 2024 spring crop to be a complete success.
