COVID-19 epidemic today: Infections continue to decrease

Regarding the COVID-19 epidemic situation today , the Ministry of Health said that from 4:00 p.m. on June 16 to 4:00 p.m. on June 17, the whole country recorded 251 infections, a slight decrease compared to the previous day.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 11,619,267 infections, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories, while with the rate of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories (on average, there are 117,421 infections per 1 million people).

During the day, 55 more patients were announced to be cured, bringing the total number of cured cases to 10,639,773. The number of patients on oxygen is 14, an increase of 1 case compared to yesterday.

The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,206, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The number of deaths ranks 26th out of 231 territories, the number of deaths per 1 million people ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories in the world .

To date, our country has administered 266,457,817 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Currently, the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered per 100 people in Vietnam is 1.6 times higher than the world average. The rate of primary vaccination is 1.4 times higher than the world average and the rate of booster vaccination is 2 times higher than the world average.
