In recent years, the benchmark for entering the education industry has been very high, even reaching the ceiling. As for why the benchmark for education is so high, Dr. Huynh Trung Phong, Director of the Center for Student Support and Entrepreneurship Development - Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, explained to VietNamNet that the benchmark for education is "at the ceiling", even higher than medicine and pharmacy because of many influencing factors.

The first reason is that the quota for the pedagogical sector is not large. There are pedagogical sectors in schools that only recruit 20-30 students. On the other hand, the Ministry of Education and Training currently assigns pedagogical quotas to schools according to social needs, meaning that the society needs as much as they need, not freely deciding.

The second is the impact of policies. In recent years, the Government has had many policies to support students of pedagogy. Specifically, the policy of exempting tuition fees and providing living expenses has made good students but with difficult family circumstances, and candidates with dreams of working in the education sector boldly register for pedagogy. On the other hand, the job position after graduation has been of interest, attracting many candidates.

Third, the legal corridor, specifically the Law on Teachers, was born, the position of teachers was raised, teachers' salaries were also ranked the highest, attracting many candidates to register for admission.

In addition, in recent years, there has been a lot of information to candidates about the shortage of teacher training majors in many areas. This shortage of teachers is also the reason why candidates are interested in this major.

Mr. Phung Quan, admissions consultant at Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences , said that Pedagogy will continue to be the focus of university admissions in 2025. From the high school exam score spectrum and new policy factors, benchmark scores, Mr. Quan predicts that the pedagogy benchmark scores will increase slightly, but there will be clear differentiation by industry and by school.

The score distribution of admission combinations for Pedagogy majors such as A00, A01, D01... in 2025 and the complete elimination of early admission will make candidates only be able to register their wishes once after knowing their exam scores. This will increase the density of wishes for top majors and schools, making the benchmark score even more unpredictable. The predicted change in benchmark score is about 0.25 to 0.75 points, depending on the major and enrollment quota.

With a total score of 25 or higher, candidates can hope to be admitted to the pedagogical major at major universities. Candidates with a score of 21-24 have a hope of being admitted to local pedagogical colleges, less competitive majors or those with a combination of high scores.

However, Mr. Quan said that this year, the benchmark score for Pedagogy is likely to continue to increase slightly, but not evenly. The differentiation between social and natural sciences, central and local schools will be clearly seen.
