If during the year-end holiday season, Da Lat was chosen as the most economical destination in Asia, then this Spring, Phong Nha ( Quang Binh ) has just been announced by the digital travel platform Agoda (on March 18) as the most economical destination in the region, ideal for Spring trips in April-May this year.

This vote has made Vietnam a priority choice for tourists who want to have an adventure, explore the lush natural beauty with majestic caves while still being able to experience local culture and cuisine at a reasonable cost.

The list includes a wide range of attractive options from peaceful beaches to bustling cities at affordable prices. Vietnam's Phong Nha is the top destination in the region with an average room rate of only 715,000 VND/night, suitable for those who love to explore the beauty of nature.

Not only is Phong Nha a standout in the region, it is also the most affordable destination in Vietnam during April and May. Thus, Phong Nha has surpassed Da Lat, which is the most affordable destination during the year-end holidays.

Following Phong Nha are Tirupati (India) and Hat Yai (Thailand), with average room rates of VND868,000/night and VND1,021,000/night respectively. These destinations harmoniously combine indigenous culture, cuisine and nature, and are chosen by many people for their Spring trips.

The remaining locations on the list are: Padang, Indonesia (average room price 1,021,000 VND); Bacolod, Philippines (average room price 1,175,000 VND); Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia (average room price 1,225,000 VND); Gimpo, South Korea (average room price 1,685,000 VND); Narita, Japan (average room price 1,813,000 VND); Pingtung, Taiwan (China) (average room price 2,017,000 VND).

“April and May are peak tourist seasons in Asia, with many festivals being held consecutively, such as Golden Week in Japan or Songkran in Thailand. Travelers everywhere are looking for worthwhile journeys,” said Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director of Agoda Vietnam.

According to Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, the ranking of the Most Economical Destinations in April and May is based on average room rates at the 20 most popular destinations in 9 Asian countries, providing an overview of affordable options.
