This is also an opportunity for the press community to review past steps, frankly acknowledge existing challenges, thereby repositioning the role of revolutionary journalism in the new period - not only as a news carrier, but also as a force for creating social trust, accompanying the Party, State and people; at the same time, aiming towards the expectation that the Vietnamese press will continue to uphold its mission as the voice of the Party, State and People, and at the same time develop in a professional, humane and modern direction - worthy of the country's development expectations in the new period.

Presenting on the topic “Vietnamese Press – Challenges and Opportunities – Ready for the New Era”, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh said that in the context of the world changing strongly under the impact of digital technology , artificial intelligence and globalization, Vietnamese press is facing unprecedented challenges, while opening up great opportunities if it knows how to proactively adapt and innovate.

The biggest challenges today are the pressure on speed and fake news causing confusion, reducing the reputation of the press if the source of information is not well controlled; difficulty in controlling content when there is a lot of bad news, fake news, and incorrect information on social networks, making it difficult for journalists to verify; competition and platform dependence because the press increasingly has to rely on social networks to reach readers, thereby gradually losing control of the "original source of information".

However, the new era also brings many opportunities for the press to assert its leading role. It is an opportunity for comprehensive digital transformation, leveraging technology to improve content quality, personalize user experience and expand distribution channels.

According to Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh, press agencies should stop trying to please all readers and instead focus resources on high-value content that is clearly different from the synthetic answers from AI search engines.

Specifically, press agencies need to develop a comprehensive digital transformation strategy; apply AI to the journalism process; automate news production and analyze big data; personalize content; use AI to support reader interaction; verify and detect fake news; strengthen cooperation and ensure professional ethics; promote the creation of digital journalism products, diversify revenue sources, etc.

Journalist Le Quoc Minh suggested solutions to increase revenue, including not relying solely on advertising, but developing new revenue sources such as reader fees, organizing events, media services, content production cooperation, copyright sales, revenue from digital platforms, column sponsorship, etc.

Citing the special products of Nhan Dan Newspaper that have "caused a stir" recently, the Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association commented: Press agencies that find a way to balance digital innovation and traditional values will have the most opportunities to maintain reader engagement, increase brand value and ensure a sustainable business model in the new era.
