Fellaini no longer has his legendary curly hair.

In Belgium's final match against Liechtenstein in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the Belgian Football Federation held a special ceremony to honor Marouane Fellaini. The image of Fellaini walking onto the field for the ceremony surprised many fans.

No longer with the characteristic curly hair that had been his “trademark” for nearly two decades, no longer with the bushy, scraggly beard, Fellaini appeared with a neatly cropped head, elegant suit, shiny leather shoes and a bright, confident smile like a professional model.

Anyone who is familiar with the image of the "frizzy-haired monster" in the Premier League or China certainly cannot immediately recognize this 1.94 m tall midfielder.

Last year, Fellaini announced his retirement after leaving Shandong Taishan (China). He returned to Belgium to live and start a business life.

Fellaini is co-founder of the menswear brand “MF74” (short for Marouane Fellaini, the number 74 shirt he wore at Standard Liege). He also invests in several high-end restaurants in Brussels and Knokke-Heist (an upscale Belgian resort), and owns a chain of gyms bearing his name.

In addition, he regularly appears as a guest commentator on Belgian television channels.
