Adjusting traffic planning and land use plan to invest in Dai Ngai and My Xuyen boat locks

STO - On May 9, at the People's Committee of Soc Trang province, Comrade Vuong Quoc Nam - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to relevant units report on local adjustments to traffic planning and land use plans to serve the investment in Dai Ngai and My Xuyen sluice gates. Attending were leaders of relevant departments and branches; leaders of the People's Committees of Long Phu, My Xuyen and Tran De districts.

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province, in the spirit of the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, localities have adjusted and supplemented the local planning of the road section for operation management and traffic connection from the boat sluice. Specifically, Tham Don commune, My Xuyen district has coordinated with the District Economic Infrastructure Department to review the traffic planning and land use plan of the commune and has surveyed the actual traffic connection route from My Xuyen boat sluice (planned) to HL12 route (shrimp - rice route) about 1,450m long, considered the residential route, proposed a route plan that does not relocate houses when clearing the site for construction. For Thanh Thoi Thuan commune, Tran De district, has surveyed the actual traffic connection route from My Xuyen boat sluice (planned) to the foot of An No bridge, the road to Vinh Chau about 3.5km long, considered the residential route and proposed a route plan that absolutely does not relocate houses when clearing the site for construction. As for Hau Thanh commune, Long Phu district, according to the planning approved by the district People's Committee to adjust the general planning in 2022, there is no planning for the investment location to build Dai Ngai boat lock and access road, so the local adjustment cannot be applied to the general planning of the commune, but must be made as a whole.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Vuong Quoc Nam requested the agriculture and environment sector and the consulting unit to develop plans for traffic and bridges; localities with the Dai Ngai and My Xuyen sluice and lock projects to prioritize adjusting long-term planning and pay attention to connecting bridges and roads with sluice and lock projects; the Department of Construction and Transport to study and support the district in adjusting land use planning; relevant communes need to pay attention to the project, to have a direction to support people when the project is implemented in the commune.
