On the afternoon of January 20, a working delegation of the Naval Region 5 Command, delegations from southern provinces and cities, businesses and press agencies docked at Phu Quoc port, successfully completing the visit, encouragement and New Year greetings to officers, soldiers, forces and people in the southwestern sea of the Fatherland.
During the 5-day, 600km sea voyage, reaching 5 island destinations, the delegation visited and wished a happy new year to the Naval Region 5 Command and units stationed on Phu Quoc Island; visited Radar Station 610, presented gifts to officers, soldiers and forces on Tho Chu Island; performed the flag-raising ceremony at Radar Station 595 on Hon Khoai Island; organized Chung cake wrapping at Radar Station 600 on Nam Du Island; presented gifts to officers and soldiers on Hon Doc Island.
The delegation also burned incense at Tho Chau Temple on Tho Chu Island; visited the Memorial Temple for the victims of storm No. 5 in 1997 on Nam Du Island...
During the voyage, with the spirit of "For the homeland's sea and islands, for the frontline of the Fatherland", the delegation did a good job of preparing, overcoming all difficulties in weather and wind; bringing affection, warmth, and spring scent from the mainland to the islands in the Southwest sea, promptly cheering and encouraging officers, soldiers and people on the frontline of the Fatherland.
