Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee received and worked with the delegation. Also attending were Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex IDC Investment and Industrial Development Corporation; representatives of relevant departments and branches.
The report to the delegation at the working session showed that, in the past, the province has planned development space for concentrated information technology and innovation zones in Thu Dau Mot City, Di An City, Tan Uyen City and Bau Bang District. Notably, the 220-hectare Science and Technology Park, including the 15.47-hectare Concentrated Information Technology Park, has just been approved by the Deputy Prime Minister. This area is planned with models to support startups and innovation such as FabLabs, TechLabs, Block71 and 50 hectares are reserved for the development of the semiconductor industry, 50 hectares for the fields of electricity, electronics, technology equipment, software and small-scale hardware manufacturing.
In particular, in recent years, the province has promoted international cooperation with localities and international organizations to develop digital technology and semiconductors; and promoted attracting businesses to the field of digital technology industry development such as FPT , CT Group, etc.
In his concluding remarks at the meeting, Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, highly appreciated the achievements Binh Duong has made in developing science and technology and innovation. He suggested that the province closely coordinate with the Ministry of Science and Technology in implementing the tasks in the coming time; at the same time, strengthen supervision and periodic inspection to ensure effectiveness.
At the working session, Binh Duong province recommended to the working delegation to soon complete institutions, finance, human resources, and infrastructure investment to create favorable conditions to attract investors to concentrated information technology parks, science and technology parks, support consulting, form and develop innovation ecosystems such as: business incubators, startup support centers, laboratories, R&D centers, co-working spaces, clubs, technology communities, startups and innovation.
Previously, the Ministry of Science and Technology's survey delegation also visited a number of industrial parks, enterprises and the Eastern International University.
