Seongnam City delegation (Korea) visited and worked at Nghi Son Economic Zone

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Within the framework of the working program in Thanh Hoa province, on the morning of June 20, the delegation of the government and enterprises of Seongnam City, South Korea, led by Mr. Shin Sang Jin, Mayor of Seongnam City, visited and worked at Nghi Son Economic Zone (KKTNS). Receiving and working with the delegation were representatives of the leaders of the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks (IPs) of the province, and leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.

Mr. Shin Sang Jin, Mayor of Seongnam City, and members of the working delegation visited and learned about the reality at Nghi Son International Port.

Representatives of the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and the provincial industrial parks introduced to the delegation the potential of Nghi Son Port - one of the fastest growing seaports in the country with large investment levels and many "stimulus" mechanisms and policies.

The seaport currently has 51 wharves and wharf areas, of which 27/51 wharves and wharf areas have been put into operation, including 15 general wharves capable of receiving ships of up to 70,000 tons and 12 specialized wharves serving the activities of key projects. The port's cargo handling capacity reaches over 75 million tons/year.

Along with attention to arranging and attracting investment resources and gradually completing infrastructure, the Central Government and Thanh Hoa province have issued many mechanisms and policies to promote import and export activities at Nghi Son Seaport.

The delegation worked at the Management Board of Thanh Hoa Economic Zone and Industrial Parks.

At the working session with the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Thanh Hoa province, the representative of the Management Board provided more information about the development situation of the Economic Zone and favorable conditions in the investment process.

Along with that, representatives of relevant departments and branches of the province also discussed issues that members of the Seongnam City delegation were interested in, especially policies when investing in the NSZ and industrial parks. At the same time, it is hoped that through this survey and research trip, organizations and enterprises of Seongnam City will consider and research investment in the NSZ as well as in other localities of Thanh Hoa province in the coming time.

Nghi Son Economic Zone is a multi-sector, multi-field economic zone, selected and planned by the Vietnamese Government as one of the eight key coastal economic zones, with the most attractive investment incentive policies in the country. The economic zone is divided into 55 sub-zones, of which there are 25 industrial sub-zones, with an area of ​​about 9,057.9 hectares. Currently, the Economic Zone has 311 domestic investment projects with a total registered investment capital of VND 170,366 billion, implemented capital of VND 78,270 billion and 25 foreign investment projects with a total registered investment capital of USD 12,831 million, implemented capital of USD 12,724 million. In addition, in the industrial parks in Thanh Hoa province, there are currently 345 domestic investment projects with a total registered investment capital of VND 20,059 billion, accumulated realized capital of VND 9,346 billion; 50 foreign investment projects with a total registered investment capital of more than USD 1.06 billion, accumulated realized capital of USD 660.57 million.
