Within the framework of the working trip in Ha Tinh, on the morning of May 15, a high-ranking delegation of Vientiane Capital led by Comrade Anouphap Tounalom - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Vientiane Capital (Lao PDR) visited the Vung Ang Economic Zone (EZ).
Accompanying the delegation were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha and leaders of a department and branch.

Comrade Anouphap Tounalom and the delegation visited the VinES Battery Factory Project of VinES Ha Tinh Energy Solutions Joint Stock Company. The project was approved by the Ha Tinh Provincial Economic Zone Management Board with a total registered capital of over VND 3,784 billion, invested by Vingroup , located in Vung Ang Economic Zone (Ky Loi Commune, Ky Anh Town); total land use area of over 12.6 hectares.
With an automation level of over 80%, this is the most modern battery factory in Vietnam, using the most advanced technologies according to American and European standards. The entire infrastructure of the factory, including component casting, assembly welding and packaging workshops, was built to ensure a capacity of 100,000 battery packs/year. In phase 2, a battery cell factory was built and the capacity was increased to 1 million battery packs/year.

Comrade Anouphap Tounalom and the delegation also visited the Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company. The company is managing and operating two main ports: Vung Ang Port (including terminals 1, 2, 3) and Xuan Hai Port. Terminal 1 has been in operation since 2001, Terminal 2 since 2008; the cargo throughput of the two terminals reaches 4 million tons/year, of which transit cargo from Laos accounts for nearly 40% (potash, iron ore, copper...).
Terminal No. 3 (Laos - Vietnam International Port) was put into operation on April 28, with a total investment of more than 1,000 billion VND. The terminal is 225m long, capable of receiving general cargo ships with a capacity of up to 45,000 DWT, with an operating capacity of up to 2.15 million tons of cargo per year; land area of 43,928m² and water surface of 42,000m².
The operation of Terminal No. 3 contributes to improving the capacity of cargo handling and unloading, meeting the increasing demand for cargo circulation. At the same time, it increases the attractiveness index in attracting investment in the region, increasingly serving import-export and trade activities with Laos and the Northeast region of Thailand; creating favorable conditions for the Lao Government to import and export goods through Vietnamese seaports.

Talking to the delegation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha emphasized that, based on the foundation of friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Laos, Ha Tinh province in particular and provinces sharing borders with Laos in general always attach importance to and actively consolidate close relations with Lao provinces in many fields.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Vung Ang Economic Zone with large-scale industrial and energy projects and especially the Laos - Vietnam International Port is a concrete symbol, a vivid proof of effective cooperation and brings practical benefits to both sides, contributing significantly to promoting socio-economic development and consolidating this good traditional relationship.

The high-ranking delegation from Vientiane Capital expressed their deep impression of the scale and dynamic development of key projects here, especially in the fields of industry and logistics. The delegation members highly appreciated Ha Tinh’s efforts in attracting investment, developing modern economic infrastructure and creating a favorable environment for production and business.
The delegation especially acknowledged and expressed their excitement at the effective operation of the Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company. With increasingly large-scale and modern investment in the port system, this is not only an important logistics node but also a vivid symbol of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. The fact that Laos' transit goods through Vung Ang port have achieved a large and growing volume is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of expanding the transport corridor, creating favorable conditions for Laos to access the sea and promoting trade in the region.
This field trip to Vung Ang Economic Zone not only aims to learn about economic development experiences, promote bilateral trade and investment cooperation between Vientiane Capital and Ha Tinh Province in particular, and between Vietnam and Laos in general, but also contributes significantly to consolidating and deepening the friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the Parties, States and People of the two countries in the new period.
