Delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam visits and works in Australia

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia conveyed the greetings of Vietnamese leaders to Governor-General Sam Monstyn, and emphasized that Vietnam attaches importance to developing relations with Australia and wishes to promote all areas of cooperation.

Continuing the visit to Australia, on September 19, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and the high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam met with Governor-General Sam Monstyn, met and discussed with the Chief Minister of the Canberra Capital Territory Andrew Barr, had a working lunch with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and worked with the leadership of the Australian National University.

Welcoming Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia and the delegation to Australia, Ms. Sam Mostyn expressed her joy at the first visit to Vietnam as Governor-General of Australia in early September, emphasizing that the visits were a vivid demonstration of the depth and affection between the people of the two countries.

The Governor-General and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia also appreciated the positive development in bilateral trade, tourism and education cooperation; appreciated the role and contributions of the Vietnamese community to the development process of Australia and the relationship between the two countries; affirmed that Australia is always a reliable partner of Vietnam, committed to supporting and accompanying Vietnam in its efforts to become a developed country in the future.

Australian Capital Territory Chief Minister Andrew Barr said Canberra is a political and diplomatic center, has strengths in developing the health, service, science and technology sectors, and is considered the educational capital of Australia. The Prime Minister expressed his desire to implement specific cooperation projects with Hanoi and Vietnamese localities discussed during his visit to Vietnam in early 2026, especially in the fields of education, training, trade, tourism and urban planning.

The leadership of the Australian National University highly appreciated the education and training development orientation of the Communist Party of Vietnam and expressed its willingness to support Vietnam in developing science and technology, promoting innovation, developing basic sciences, and improving the quality of human resources through providing scholarships for Vietnamese students and researchers to study in Australia.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia conveyed the greetings of Vietnamese leaders to Governor-General Sam Monstyn, emphasizing that Vietnam attaches importance to developing relations with Australia and wishes to promote all areas of cooperation.

He thanked the Australian Government and people for always accompanying and supporting Vietnam in the process of national renewal and development, and suggested that the two sides actively coordinate and effectively implement high-level agreements and existing cooperation mechanisms, especially the Action Program to implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that the two sides continue to promote security and defense cooperation, connect the two economies, promote two-way trade, create breakthroughs in cooperation in human resource development, education and training, science and technology, etc. to bring practical benefits to the people of the two countries, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
