On the morning of July 10, the 915th National Defense Economic Group (Military Region 9) held a ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the National Defense Economic Group's Traditional Day (July 10, 2015 - July 10, 2025). On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense sent a letter of congratulations and commendation to the unit.

Performance at the celebration

Currently, the entire National Defense Economic Zone has a planned area of 44,320 hectares, a border of nearly 67km, bordering both land and sea with Cambodia; including 10 administrative units at commune and ward levels and a population of over 52,300 people, an area holding an important strategic position in terms of national defense and security.

Colonel Dang Van Duong, Head of Defense Economic Group 915 (Military Region 9) spoke to review the 10th anniversary of the unit's founding.

Colonel Dang Van Duong, Head of the 915 National Defense Economic Group, said that over the past 10 years, the 915 National Defense Economic Group has coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to plan, organize, and stabilize the lives of residents in the national defense economic zone to develop the economy and society, achieve the goal of poverty reduction, political stability, and ensure national defense and security.

The Nong Truong canal route through Vinh Dieu, Giang Thanh, and Hoa Dien communes ( An Giang province) was built by the 915 National Defense Economic Group.

People of Phu Loi commune, Giang Thanh district, Kien Giang province (now Giang Thanh commune, An Giang province) receive cows supported by National Defense Economic Group 915.

Up to now, the 915 National Defense Economic Group has deployed the construction and handover of many projects such as the Nam Vinh Te border belt residential road, Nong Truong canal road, the road from National Highway N1 to milestone 290, Canal 500 road, Thi Van road; supported the construction and handover of 8 rural traffic bridges; invested in the construction and handover of 1 primary school with 8 classrooms; 1 commune cultural center to meet the needs of community activities...

In supporting economic development and sustainable poverty reduction, the unit has supported more than 37,000 breeding animals, including 546 breeding and fattening cows, 16,400 cobia breeding fish, 13,400 chickens, 450 pigs for people, with a total cost of 16.7 billion VND...

Regarding propaganda and mobilization work for the people, the unit has closely coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to organize propaganda sessions and disseminate laws to thousands of people, contributing to raising people's awareness of their responsibility in participating in building local defense zones in particular and the national defense posture in general.
