This cooperation and recognition will help stroke and cardiovascular patients have access to high-quality medical care at a reasonable cost. In addition, the SIS Can Tho Global Training Center will become a place to train and share in-depth knowledge for medical staff in the Southeast Asia region.
“SIS Can Tho International Hospital is an important partner of Siemens Healthineers. Over the years, the cooperation between the two sides has contributed to significantly increasing access to advanced stroke and cardiovascular treatments in Vietnam and many neighboring regions,” said Mr. Bernd Montag, CEO of Siemens Healthineers.
According to the agreement signed at Siemens Healthineers global headquarters (Germany), Siemens Healthineers will strengthen its strategic partnership with SIS Can Tho International Hospital through expanding the SIS hospital network in Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, aiming to shorten the golden time for stroke and cardiovascular emergency care for patients in the Mekong Delta, Central region and Ho Chi Minh City.
“This is not only an important milestone in our expansion journey, but also a clear demonstration of SIS’s enduring commitment to bringing high-quality stroke and cardiovascular care closer to people across the country. With this expansion, patients in Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang will no longer have to travel hundreds of kilometers to access modern medical technology or specialized interventions ,” shared Dr. Phan Trinh Minh Hieu, Deputy CEO of SIS Can Tho International Hospital.
SIS Can Tho International Hospital has long been recognized as a center for medical innovation, international cooperation and advanced training. Through training programs such as Stroke Intervention School, the hospital attracts many of the world's leading neurosurgeons and cardiologists to participate.
Becoming a Siemens Healthineers Global Training Center will further strengthen SIS Can Tho International Hospital’s role as a center for technology transfer and clinical knowledge sharing in the Asian region. Accordingly, the center will provide specialized training programs for medical staff in Vietnam and neighboring countries, focusing on diagnostic imaging, cardiovascular and neurointerventional medicine, as well as the application of medical technology in clinical practice.
Nearly 10 years ago, Siemens Healthineers was one of the first partners to collaborate with Dr. Tran Chi Cuong - Chairman of the Founding Board of SIS Can Tho International Hospital - to build the first high-quality intensive stroke and cardiovascular treatment center in the Mekong Delta. At that time, patients in this area had to travel hundreds of kilometers to Ho Chi Minh City to receive timely emergency care.
