Hai Phong Puppetry Art Troupe performs the puppet play "The Adventures of a Cricket" according to the City Theater Lighting Plan

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – Implementing the Plan to Light Up the City Theater, on the morning of March 2, the Hai Phong Puppetry Art Troupe organized a performance of the puppet play “The Adventures of a Cricket”. The play attracted the attention of many children in the city.

The puppet show “The Adventures of Men the Cricket” lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes, adapted from the famous literary work “The Adventures of Men the Cricket” by the late writer To Hoai. The play conveys the message of the desire to live in peace , to eliminate conflicts, to dare to dream, to dare to act… to the public, especially the youth.

The play was elaborately staged and performed by scriptwriter Le Tri Trung, director People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung, puppet artist Meritorious Artist The Khien, set designer and stage performer Ngo Thang, lighting designer Nhu Son, sound designer Quang Vinh, performance conductor Bui Hien, and program director Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy. Along with performances by artists and actors of Hai Phong Puppetry Art Troupe and several art troupes.

The play leads the audience to witness the journey of maturity of a Cricket, who was initially very arrogant, delusional about his power, immersed in the praise and flattery of the crowd... After a rebellious act that caused serious consequences, Cricket was extremely remorseful, suddenly awakened, realizing that his life was being imprisoned in a gilded cage, entertaining the world, doing evil without knowing it... After awakening, Cricket became more mature, realizing that love is the root of all things in life, began to think and do kind, heroic, and righteous things to help the disadvantaged..., gradually maturing in life.

Along with that, the play brings the audience to the exciting adventures of De Men and his best friend De Trui. During that adventure, the two friends travel to new lands, experience many difficulties and hardships, witness the anger of Mother Nature but also learn many good things. Facing the bad and the backward, Men and Trui understand that they have to go further, learn more good things, and cannot be like frogs sitting in a well. Closing the play is the image of De Men, Trui and all species with the same aspirations going all over the world to learn good things, to love, to share, to dream. Each person for all, no matter how many directions they go, no one is alone, wherever they go, there is warmth, wherever they go, there is love, together building a world where all species become brothers and sisters...

The show uses many lively and attractive puppetry genres combined with a magical sound, light and stage system, like a colorful and vibrant symphony, bringing the audience a fascinating artistic experience.

Teacher Le Thi Phuong, Principal of Hoa Phuong Private Kindergarten (Cat Bi Ward, Hai An District) shared that being able to watch the artists and actors of Hai Phong Puppetry Art Troupe perform live at the City Theater on the weekend made teachers, students and parents very excited and happy. Through the play, the children see that selfishness and arrogance are not good, and that they need to care and worry about others. Besides, it spreads love, friendship, and interpersonal relationships. And most importantly, the family element, creating a foundation for the development of children's thinking in the future. Hopefully, there will be more performances like this for students.

Head of the Hai Phong Puppetry Art Troupe Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy said that on the morning of March 3, the troupe will continue to perform for the city's public, especially students, teenagers, and children at the City Theater according to the plan "Lighting up the City Theater" of the Department of Culture and Sports.
