Workers at garment enterprises in the province speed up production at the beginning of the year.

Right after the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday, Hanex Hue Co., Ltd., Phu Bai Industrial Park (IP) had the first export shipment of the year. The urgent working atmosphere was joined by all workers from the first day of work. Ms. Dang Thi Thanh An, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Hanex Hue Co., Ltd., said that in order to meet the export orders, workers had to work overtime on the first day of work. Overtime means increased income, so all workers are enthusiastic. According to Ms. An, up to now, Hannex Hue Co., Ltd. has enough production orders until the end of the year, and it is expected that workers will work overtime every day.

Similarly, at Hanesbrands Vietnam Hue Co., Ltd. (HBI), Phu Bai Industrial Park, more than 6,000 workers are also actively producing orders right from the first days after Tet. To motivate workers, in addition to giving lucky money to all workers at the beginning of the year, the company also organizes a bingo game with hundreds of prizes with denominations ranging from 100,000 to 500,000 VND. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, a garment worker at the company, said that this year her family returned to her hometown in Ha Tinh for Tet, but she took advantage of the opportunity to go to work early to get to work on time. "Partly because I didn't want to lose a day of work, partly because I'm grateful to the company for always taking care of our jobs and providing us with a stable income. In addition to my Tet bonus, the company also supported me with transportation expenses to go back to my hometown," Ms. Lien said.

More than 1,000 workers of MSV Co., Ltd., Phu Bai Industrial Park returned to work after the Lunar New Year holiday with positive energy and optimism. Mr. Le Quy Hoang, Chairman of the company's Trade Union, said that this energy comes from the policies and regimes that the company offers.

Mr. Hoang informed that in 2023, while many companies lack orders, workers have to work overtime, and their income is reduced, more than 1,000 workers of MSV Company Limited are still guaranteed jobs and income. Moreover, compared to previous years, during the last Tet, the company paid better bonuses, each worker received a bonus of 1.5 months of 13th salary, and participated in a lucky draw with many prizes worth tens of millions of VND.

Workers in the province speed up production at export enterprises

In 2024, the company's orders have increased since the beginning of the year, and the company is expanding its production lines. In addition to the goal of continuing to maintain stable employment for workers, the company is also considering increasing the minimum wage by 500,000 VND/worker/month. "With stable work and income, I returned to work after the Tet holiday with a very secure mindset, focusing all my time on production and working, and staying with the company for a long time," worker Dang Van Cong shared.

These days, more than 1,000 workers of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, Hue branch, Phong Dien Industrial Park are working hard for the first shipments of the year. Mr. Rachata Inthaworn, Director of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, Hue branch, said that last year the company produced in a context of many common difficulties, but the export value still reached 58 million USD, exceeding the set plan. With that motivation, this year the company continues to expand production, setting a target of exceeding the annual plan by 30%, so from the beginning of the year, the company has accelerated production.

Mr. Hoang Trong Lam, Head of the Department of Legal Policy and Labor Relations, Provincial Labor Federation, said that the labor relations situation after Tet has been relatively stable in the province. The rate of workers at enterprises returning to work on the first day after Tet holiday is over 95%. According to Mr. Hoang Trong Lam, before Tet, enterprises in the province organized many activities to take good care of union members and workers, so workers felt secure in their commitment to the enterprise, and the rate of job-hopping was low.

In early 2024, orders showed signs of improvement, many businesses are making efforts to restart and expand production, so the demand for recruitment has increased. Many garment export enterprises have a need to recruit a large number of workers. For example, the number of HBI Hue Company, which needs to recruit at the present time is 1,800 workers for sewing, cutting, and fabric spreading positions, starting work immediately. The average salary for these positions is 7.5 million VND/person/month. At Scavi Hue Company, located in Phong Dien Industrial Park, Phong Dien district, there is also a need to recruit 1,500 workers, mainly sewing workers, with salaries ranging from 5.5 to 12.5 million VND/person/month depending on the position and work experience. The company representative said that it is expected that the company will put factory No. 2 into operation next March. The number of workers recruited this time focuses on serving the new factory, while also meeting the company's current order needs.

These are positive and confident signals that in the new year of Giap Thin 2024, production and business activities of enterprises in the province will continue to develop, and jobs and income of workers will be guaranteed.
