Forest rangers and Phong My commune community release wild animals back into the natural environment |
The above project is implemented in Tan My and Ha Long villages (Phong My commune, Phong Dien town) from March 2024 to June 2025 with non-refundable aid from Solidaritätsdienst International (SODI-Germany).
Since its implementation, 50 members of the two communities have been trained in applying tools for forest monitoring based on community-based forest patrol technology (CFMS); disseminating knowledge about forestry law in forest monitoring, forest fire prevention and fighting; 4 meetings to report results, including 1 meeting to share results with 13 communities; 124 reports from the 2 communities on CFMS; forest patrol frequency is at least 2 times/month; forest developments are updated every 3 months...
Through the above activities, local people and members of the local forest protection team have raised awareness, understanding of the law, and a sense of responsibility in protecting local forest resources at present and in the future.
Vice Chairman of Phong Dien Town People's Committee - Ho Don said that the project's objectives are appropriate and provide good support for local forest protection and development. The above results not only demonstrate the success of the project, but also open up a sustainable direction for effective and long-term forest protection in Phong Dien Town.
