Chinese enterprise 'pours' 454 million USD to make solar panels in Thai Nguyen

On the afternoon of February 19, Mr. Le Kim Phuc, Head of the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Thai Nguyen province, presented the investment registration certificate to the legal representative of Trina Solar Cell Company Limited for the third investment project of this enterprise in Thai Nguyen.

According to the announced information, Trina Solar Cell's new project has a total investment of 454 million USD (about 11,000 billion VND) in Yen Binh Industrial Park (Thai Nguyen), on an area of 141,000 ^m2 . The project is expected to start construction in May, be completed and put into operation from March 2025, with a production scale of over 11,500 tons of monocrystalline silicon bars/year; 555 million monocrystalline silicon wafers and 560 million solar panels/year.

Upon completion, this project will bring the total output value of Trina Solar Cell in Thai Nguyen to 2.7 - 2.8 billion USD/year; creating jobs for over 4,300 workers.

Previously, Trina Solar Cell implemented two projects with a total registered investment capital of 478 million USD, including: a project to produce photovoltaic cells (solar panels), solar modules with an investment capital of 203 million USD; a project to produce silicon bars and monocrystalline silicon panels with an investment capital of 275 million USD.

With the third licensed project, Trina Solar Cell's total investment capital in Thai Nguyen has been raised to 932 million USD. With two projects in operation, in 2023, this group will have a revenue of nearly 1.2 billion USD and create jobs for 1,400 workers, of which 90% are Vietnamese.

According to the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Thai Nguyen province, Trina Solar Cell's projects all meet the criteria of high-tech, environmentally friendly production, in line with the investment attraction orientation of this locality.
