The largest source of income for schools comes from tuition fees, especially when the scale of training is getting bigger, the number of students increases, and tuition fees also increase every year. Next are items such as scientific research, technology transfer, projects and other sources of income...
At Van Lang University, school leaders explained that the sharp increase in revenue was due to the dramatic increase in training scale in recent years.
Specifically, in the 2018-2019 school year, the school had only 13,200 students in total, but after 2 years, in the 2020-2021 school year, the scale skyrocketed to 30,652 students. In the 2021-2022 school year, there were 38,673 students and in the 2022-2023 school year, the training scale increased to nearly 43,000 students.
At FPT University, tuition revenue also accounts for about 90% of revenue as the training scale has continuously increased in recent years.
Of the total revenue of more than VND 1,000 billion in 2023 of the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University), revenue from tuition fees is more than VND 672 billion, from the budget is more than VND 102 billion, revenue from scientific research and technology transfer is VND 44.4 billion and from other legal sources is more than VND 184 billion.
