The team of intellectuals, scientists, and artists continue to affirm their role and desire to contribute.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on the morning of August 6, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam chaired a meeting with intellectuals, scientists, and artists.

Co-chairing the conference were Politburo members: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Tran Cam Tu, Standing member of the Secretariat; Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Attending the conference were Politburo members, Central Party Secretaries: Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Organization Committee; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Head of the Central Inspection Committee ; Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Le Hoai Trung, Central Party Secretary, Head of the Central Party Office; Central Party Committee members, former Central Party Committee members, leaders, former leaders of the Party and State, intellectual delegates, scientists, artists from all over the country.

The conference was organized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission in coordination with the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Central Party Office and related units to recognize and honor the contributions and dedication of intellectuals, scientists, artists and writers in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Delegates attending the conference expressed their emotion that the Party and State recognized the labor, creativity, and dedicated contributions of intellectuals, scientists, and artists in recent years and continued to care for and encourage their artistic work, research, and creativity, striving to produce many great and valuable works and projects, contributing to the cause of national construction and development in the new period. Delegates also shared their dedicated opinions in their professional fields and affirmed their trust in the Party and State's innovative policies to bring our country to rapid and sustainable development in the new era of the nation.

On behalf of the Party, State and people, General Secretary To Lam commended, acknowledged and expressed gratitude for the great contributions of the intellectuals, scientists, artists and pioneers in enlightening the people, building revolutionary theories and applying science, technology and engineering into practice. The General Secretary affirmed that over the past 80 years, every stage of the Vietnamese revolution has been marked by the great contributions of the intellectuals, artists and scientists, who have been brave in combat, persistent in creativity, pioneers in innovation and dedicated to building the country.

Thoroughly grasping some orientations for national development in the coming time, the General Secretary emphasized that in a world full of fluctuations and interdependence like today, the task of protecting the integrity of territorial sovereignty, maintaining national independence, maintaining peace and stability; developing rapidly and sustainably; and further improving the material and spiritual life of the people is a very high and urgent requirement. The entire political system must take drastic action, the entire people need to respond strongly, in which the joint efforts of intellectuals, scientists and artists are needed.

Intellectuals and scientists need to maximize their intelligence, revolutionary qualities, and patriotism to research, innovate, and contribute to the cause of rapid and sustainable national development; focus on key areas such as science, technology, education and training, healthcare, high-tech agriculture, digital economy, digital society, green energy conversion, circular economy, etc. Artists and writers continue to preserve, nurture, and develop an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity; constantly create works of ideological and aesthetic value that can spread, inspire, and elevate the souls of Vietnamese people in the context of globalization and integration.

The General Secretary stated that we are living in an era where knowledge is the most important resource for development, the “new energy” of the 21st century. The fourth industrial revolution, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, renewable energy, etc. are profoundly changing all aspects of social life. If we do not promptly adapt, accept and master, we will fall behind. Therefore, intellectuals, scientists and artists need to demonstrate a spirit of dedication to their work, proactively participating in the process of building and criticizing policies in the spirit of science, humanity and nation.

Intellectuals are not only researchers and teachers, but also gatekeepers, creators, and contributors of knowledge and morality, contributing to shaping the country's development path in the spirit of serving the country, the people, and the nation's longevity. At the same time, it is necessary to actively connect and spread knowledge, experience, and values to the younger generation; imparting not only knowledge but also national spirit, revolutionary ideals, patriotism, and compassion. This is the most practical way for good values to be promoted and live forever in the national cause.
