Officials from Bo Sinh commune are instructing the people of Phong 2 village on techniques for caring for longan trees.

Regarding Bo Sinh commune, many changes have taken place. The electricity, road, school, and health station systems have been invested in and built. Along with that, the people have learned to produce goods for the market, applying science and technology, with many effective economic models, creating high-quality agricultural products linked to the consumer market.

According to Mr. Quang Van Thang, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee: Every year, the people in the commune focus on intensive cultivation of 405 hectares of high-quality fruit trees such as longan, pomelo, and mango, yielding over 4,000 tons; planting 353 hectares of rice; and cultivating 215 hectares of cassava and other crops… In addition, the people also invest in developing more than 8,000 head of livestock and nearly 28,000 head of poultry.

Visiting Phong 2 village, we saw the fruit tree farming model of Mr. Bac Cam Xom's family. The plum, longan, and mango trees were thriving, bearing fruit and promising a bountiful harvest. Mr. Xom shared: "I borrowed capital from the Social Policy Bank, and combined it with my savings, invested in converting 5 hectares to cultivate plums, mangoes, and longan. Thanks to the transfer of cultivation and care techniques, the fruit trees are thriving, yielding 25 tons of fruit per year. In addition, my family also sells seedlings to other villagers; we also cultivate 2 hectares of cassava, bringing our total income to over 350 million VND per year."

From projects under national target programs, Bo Sinh commune received investment for the maintenance, repair, and upgrading of 15 km of road from the commune center to Huoi Tinh village and 6 km of road from Pa Ngay village to Pa Khoang village; construction and repair of cultural houses in Pat, Pa Ma, Pa Ngay, Bo Sinh, and Huoi Tinh villages; and construction of 92 water supply facilities for the villages... To date, 100% of villages have cultural houses; 100% of schools have been modernized; 100% of households have access to clean water; and over 92% of households have access to safe electricity.

In addition, Bo Sinh commune is focusing on implementing a program to eliminate temporary housing, helping poor households stabilize their lives. Currently, the commune is mobilizing the joint efforts of officials, Party members, civil servants, and the people, and calling for support from organizations and individuals to help eliminate 5 temporary houses for poor households. Activities involving contributions of labor, cash, and construction materials are being intensified, striving to complete the project before April 30th.

The education sector in the commune has also undergone many changes. Teacher Tong Van Tinh, from Bo Sinh Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School, shared: "Previously, the classrooms were rudimentary, hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter; there was a lack of desks, chairs, and teaching equipment; and encouraging students to attend school was difficult. Now, the school's 34 classrooms have been built solidly and are fully equipped with functional rooms, creating favorable conditions for teaching and learning, contributing to improving the quality of education."

To achieve the goal of reducing the poverty rate to 11.3% by the end of 2025, Bo Sinh commune is focusing on mobilizing and effectively utilizing state support resources. At the same time, it is promoting awareness and encouraging the people to leverage their internal resources, actively transform the structure of crops and livestock, intensify cultivation, increase productivity and product quality, and gradually improve living standards and achieve sustainable poverty reduction.
