Visiting Vinh Thanh commune, we felt the excitement of the people when the commune was recognized as meeting the model NTM standards. What is easy to see in Vinh Thanh hometown is the quite comprehensive development, when the material and spiritual life of the people is significantly improved, the face of the hometown has many positive changes. Basic infrastructure is completed; the irrigation system is gradually completed, well meeting the production needs in the locality. Schools and medical stations meet the standards, creating favorable conditions for studying; medical examination, treatment, and living of the people. In particular, the traffic system of the commune is gradually completed, the main inter-commune and inter-district roads are upgraded and expanded, paved or concreted... contributing to creating favorable conditions for people to travel, promoting socio -economic development. “Our people are happy with the positive changes in the locality. People's lives are increasingly improving. The most outstanding feature of the locality in building the new rural area is promoting the spirit of solidarity, "mutual love and support", taking care of the poor and actively participating in social security activities" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung (Dong Binh Nhat hamlet) shared.

Chairman of Vinh Thanh Commune People's Committee Ta Minh Tri said that determining that building a new rural area is a long-term and continuous program, immediately after being recognized as meeting the new rural and advanced new rural standards, the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Thanh Commune have focused on maintaining and improving the quality of the criteria, striving to turn the commune into a model advanced new rural commune. The locality has proactively developed programs and implementation plans for each year and specific stages suitable to the actual situation and conditions of the commune and deployed them to associations, unions and hamlets, with the spirit of "Doing easy things first, doing difficult things later", promptly removing difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process. Up to now, the commune has been recognized as a model new rural area in 2024 in the field of culture and society .

Rural areas of Vinh Thanh commune flourish

In particular, increasing people's income is an important goal that the Party Committee and the government of Vinh Thanh commune are interested in promoting in building new rural areas. Therefore, the locality has proactively done a good job of vocational training and creating jobs for workers. At the same time, focusing on shifting the structure of crops and livestock, creating conditions for farmers to study and access scientific and technical advances to apply in production, contributing to increasing income and improving farmers' lives. Implementing the policy of shifting the structure of crops and livestock, farmers in Vinh Thanh commune maintain and replicate typical production and business models that bring high economic efficiency, such as: oranges, tangerines, mangoes, cucumbers, watermelons, straw mushrooms, soybeans, vegetables of all kinds... Up to now, the whole commune has converted over 190 hectares of ineffective rice to grow crops and fruit trees. The commune has 2 products recognized as achieving 3-star OCOP, which are Co Nanh vegetarian fish sauce and tofu.

To improve the quality of life, Vinh Thanh commune has deployed the "Smart Hamlet" model in Dong Binh Trach hamlet as a pilot, to be replicated in the remaining communes in the area. Party cell secretary and head of Dong Binh Trach hamlet People's Committee Tran Thanh Son said: To meet the standards of the "Smart Hamlet" model, specialized sectors have supported the hamlet People's Committee to review and compile data; promote propaganda, guide people to apply information technology, digital transformation to serve daily life. In particular, focusing on supporting the installation of electronic identification software, guiding people to register administrative procedures online on the electronic information portal, cashless payments...

“Changing the habits of people in rural areas is not easy, but with the determination of the People's Committee of the hamlet and the support of the commune's organizations, the "digital popularization" has been carried out smoothly, because the innovation from digital transformation has helped people have a modern and civilized life" - Mr. Tran Thanh Son said. Mr. Nguyen Van Hai (residing in Dong Binh Trach hamlet) shared: "Thanks to the hamlet officials' instructions on how to use the banking app, now I can pay my electricity and water bills very easily. On the day, the system automatically pays, I don't have to wait for staff to come to my house to collect money anymore...".

In the coming time, Vinh Thanh commune will continue to maintain and improve the quality of the indicators and criteria of a model new-style rural commune. At the same time, mobilize and effectively use resources to promote agricultural and rural development; pay attention to investing and developing synchronous infrastructure, creating momentum for development. In addition, develop agricultural production in a sustainable and highly efficient direction, aiming to improve quality, meet market demand, and associate with the development of eco-tourism. Promoting the potential advantages of the locality, the commune focuses on mobilizing all resources to develop the economy along with implementing well social security, maintaining political security, and social order and safety.

Over the past years, Vinh Thanh commune has effectively maintained socialization work, mobilizing people to care for the poor; upgrading and repairing inter-commune and inter-hamlet roads, with the motto "people know, people discuss, people do, people check, people benefit". Over the past 5 years, the commune has mobilized nearly 5.3 billion VND to carry out social security activities and care for the poor. Thereby, contributing to improving and enhancing the quality of life, increasing people's access to basic social services.
