Dialogue between Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong and farmers

(E-Portal) On the afternoon of December 19, 2024, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong and Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Tran Van Ben chaired a direct and online dialogue conference with farmers in the province in 2024.

In his opening speech, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong emphasized: This conference is an important forum for representatives of cadres, members, and farmers in the province to directly reflect their thoughts and aspirations to the provincial leaders on issues related to agriculture , farmers, and rural areas in the area.

In order for the conference to be most effective, the Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that delegates from farmers, businesses, cooperatives and farmers' associations at all levels participate in the dialogue in a frank and open spirit, speak specifically and concisely; focus on difficulties, obstacles and propose and recommend mechanisms and policies related to agriculture, farmers, rural areas and the building of the Farmers' Association.

This is not only a dialogue, but also an opportunity for all parties to listen, accompany each other and find the most suitable solutions to the practical problems that farmers are facing. The contributions and opinions of each rural person will make an important contribution to the implementation of the goals of the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and to make Quang Tri develop more sustainably.

The dialogue took place in both live and online formats.

With a frank and open spirit, farmer members reflected and proposed opinions and recommendations to the Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments and branches. The conference received 19 questions in 4 groups of fields, of which 7 questions were raised directly at the conference with issues related to solutions to tighten relationships in production and product consumption linkages to increase the value of agricultural products, contributing to increasing farmers' income; the situation of land management in some localities still has many shortcomings; works and projects serving agriculture have been completed but not yet put into use.

In addition, many delegates were concerned about the number of vocationally trained workers who have no jobs on the spot, vocational training programs that are not close to reality, or the deterioration of many rural roads.

Concluding the dialogue conference, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong requested departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to continue to implement and concretize the discussed contents to promptly and effectively resolve the opinions of farmer members. At the same time, based on the functions and tasks of the sector and unit, proactively advise the Provincial People's Committee on solutions to effectively implement policies and mechanisms on agriculture, farmers and rural areas, meeting the needs, thoughts and aspirations of farmers.

The Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also informed some key features of the socio -economic situation such as: In 2024, the growth rate of total product in the area increased by 5.97% over the same period last year, although the economic growth rate has not met expectations, but compared to the general context as well as the growth rate of recent years, it reflects the great efforts of the Party Committee, government and people in the whole province. For the agricultural sector, the growth rate in 2024 reached 3.37%, most of the targets in all fields reached and exceeded the set plan targets. This is a good sign of the economic recovery and development of the province, but above all, it reflects the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the efforts with high determination of the Party Committee, government, army and people of the whole province in a year full of difficulties and challenges.

In order to continue to create favorable conditions to support farmers and develop sustainable agriculture and rural areas, the Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and localities to conduct in-depth research and review the documents, regulations, mechanisms and policies of the Central Government on agriculture, farmers and rural areas to advise on effective implementation in the localities, and continue to study and promulgate new mechanisms and policies to create motivation for the development of agriculture, farmers and rural areas; focus on promptly resolving issues and recommendations at the dialogue in accordance with the actual situation of the province, ensuring understanding and reasonability, and at the same time have written responses and specific solutions for each recommendation and proposal.

In particular, the Provincial Farmers' Association directs Farmers' Associations at all levels to continue to affirm and enhance their position and role in uniting, gathering and developing farmer members. Continuously innovate the content and methods of operation; promote emulation movements, especially the movement of farmers competing in production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty; promote the role as a bridge between the government and farmers.

In addition, localities continue to effectively implement programs and resolutions of the Central and the province on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas... Strengthen propaganda and mobilization work, focus on building many effective agricultural production models associated with building concentrated production areas according to the province's orientation.
