Except for the absence of Cong Phuong, Viet Anh, Thanh Binh (replaced by Quoc Viet, Van Toi, Ly Duc), Mr. Kim Sang-sik has the optimal force in hand, with the players all in good physical condition, fully following the training plan in the last 2 training sessions.

This is also the only friendly match of the Vietnamese team in the preparation for the match against Malaysia. In contrast, the Malaysian team played 2 friendly matches with Cape Verde, the team ranked 72nd in the world . As a result, coach Peter Cklamovski and his team drew 1-1 in the first match, then lost 0-3 in the rematch.
The match between Malaysia and Vietnam took place at Bukit Jalil Stadium on the evening of June 10. This was the second round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. After the opening round, Vietnam led the group after beating Laos 5-0, while Malaysia ranked second after beating Nepal 2-0 at home. If Vietnam drew with Malaysia in the next match, the Vietnamese team will definitely keep the top spot after the second round.
Vietnam have been unbeaten against Malaysia for 11 years, with five wins and one draw. The last time the two teams met was in the group stage of the 2022 AFF Cup, where Vietnam won 3-0 at My Dinh Stadium. While Vietnam won the 2024 AFF Cup and finished second in the 2022 AFF Cup, Malaysia was eliminated in the group stage in both tournaments.
