On the afternoon of October 10, 250 ethnic minority delegates representing more than 324,160 ethnic minorities in the province attended the preparatory session of the 4th Kon Tum Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress in 2024. The delegates all expressed their joy, excitement and expectation that the Congress would be a great success, unanimously approving the Resolution Letter and setting out many important goals to implement in the 2024-2029 period.

Attending the preparatory session were Vice Chairman of Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee Y Ngoc; Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kon Tum Province Y Thi Bich Tho; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors.
The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Kon Tum Province in 2024 is an important political event, affirming the Party's consistent policy on ethnic issues and great solidarity among ethnic groups. The Congress takes place in an atmosphere where the entire Party and people are striving to successfully implement the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels, striving to build Kon Tum province to maintain stability and sustainable development.

Ms. Y Xuoi (Xo Dang ethnic group) - Former Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kon Tum province shared: It must be affirmed that the Party and State have paid attention to and implemented many policies for ethnic minority areas. What I am very happy about is the strong development of ethnic minority areas in Kon Tum province, ethnic minorities have a more prosperous and happy life and the great national unity bloc is increasingly strong. Every time I attend a Congress like this, I am very moved, hoping that the people of all ethnic groups will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, building Kon Tum province to develop more and more.

Y Thien Man (Xo Dang ethnic group) - 10A grade student, Dak Ha District Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, 15 years old this year, is the youngest delegate to attend the Congress. He shared: I am excited and proud to attend the 4th Kon Tum Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress. This is the motivation for me to continue to strive and study well so that in the future I can contribute to building my homeland to become more and more prosperous.
The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Kon Tum Province has the task of summarizing and evaluating the results of ethnic work and ethnic policies in the 2019-2024 period and the resolution of the 3rd Congress, affirming and recognizing the important contributions of ethnic minorities in socio -economic development and building the provincial political system in the 2019-2024 period; at the same time, proposing directions and tasks for the 2024-2029 period.

Mr. A Thai (Ro Mam ethnic group) - Le village, Mo Rai commune, Sa Thay district shared: This is the first time I have attended the Congress, I am very excited to represent the ethnic groups with very small populations. I hope that the Congress will set specific goals to continue investing and comprehensively developing the ethnic minority areas, improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities.
Attending the Congress, all delegates expressed their joy and excitement at the achievements that Kon Tum province has achieved in the period of 2019 - 2024. Investment resources from ethnic programs and policies, especially the 3 National Target Programs, have promoted the economy of ethnic minority and mountainous areas to grow steadily with a reasonable structure; the material and spiritual life of the people has increasingly improved, the poverty rate has decreased according to plan, and social security policies have been implemented promptly. Traditional cultural values and handicrafts of ethnic minorities have been preserved and promoted.
In the preparatory session, the Congress elected a 9-member Presidium and a 3-member Secretariat. The official session of the Congress will take place on the morning of October 11, at Ngoc Linh Hall, Kon Tum City, Kon Tum Province.
