Effectively contribute to documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress

Following the direction of General Secretary To Lam, the Editorial Team of the 14th National Congress Documents reported on a number of new and important issues in the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

The report clearly stating the new points in the Draft Document will help cadres, party members and people understand the correct spirit, effectively contribute to the document; contribute to the success of the 14th Party Congress; and set out the direction to bring the country to rapid and sustainable development in the new period.

Highlighting 18 new and important issues, the report provided an overview of the innovations in the documents submitted to the Congress, as well as the Party's new viewpoints on specific areas such as institutional improvement, growth model innovation, culture, education, science and technology. In particular, identifying the private economy as the most important driving force of the economy is one of the new points of interest.

"The role of the private economy has gone from being denied to being acknowledged within certain limits and then being allowed to operate on an equal footing with other sectors. Now the private economy has become a breakthrough in ideology and awareness. Everyone can be creative without any restraint, only then can we mobilize resources for the country," said Professor Phan Xuan Son (former Director of the Institute of Politics , Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics).

According to the report, adding environmental protection along with economic and social development as a central task in the Draft Documents of the 14th National Congress marks a step forward in profound and solid awareness.

"This is not simply a matter of wording in a document, but rather a reflection of the Politburo's and the General Secretary's guiding viewpoint on long-term vision and environmental protection strategy. We must not trade off socio-economic development to bear environmental disasters," affirmed Mr. Tran Van Khai (Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science , Technology and Environment).

Also in the draft document, for the first time, the concept of breakthrough development in the field of defense is used. Along with that, the guiding viewpoint of foreign affairs and international integration together with defense and security is added as an important and regular task.

"I am very interested in the important and the regular. The important is something that cannot be replaced, the regular is something we must do continuously, every day, not just for formality. Strengthening national defense and security so that we can protect the country early, from afar," said Mr. Trinh Xuan An (National Assembly's Committee on Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs).

According to experts, the first official report on a number of new and important issues in the draft documents of the 14th National Congress will help contribute opinions in a more focused, important and substantial manner.

"When we raise new issues for discussion and contribute opinions, on the one hand, we both get opinions and gather the wisdom of the entire Party. But the second aspect is to let cadres, party members and people understand it initially. When this new issue becomes a resolution, we will study it, understand it thoroughly and facilitate the implementation of the Resolution," said Mr. Nguyen Duc Ha (former Head of the Party Base Department, Central Organization Committee).

The process of collecting comments on draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress took place from October 15 and will end on November 15, 2025.
