Promoting the role of youth in innovation and creativity more strongly

On October 22, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a conference of key officials to contribute ideas to draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

The conference had a bridge in Hanoi and 4,088 online bridges, with the participation of about 80,800 delegates who were union, association, team officials, young intellectuals, young entrepreneurs, artists, students, and outstanding youth at home and abroad.

According to information from the Central Youth Union, up to now, 100% of youth unions at all levels have developed plans and organized activities to contribute opinions to the documents of the 14th National Party Congress; the contents of the comments of youth nationwide have been highly appreciated by party committees at all levels, creating a widespread political movement of youth nationwide to practically welcome the 14th National Party Congress.

At the conference, many opinions suggested that the 14th Congress documents clarify the role of the young generation in the process of industrialization, modernization and international integration, while affirming that youth are creative subjects and leading forces in innovation, digital transformation and knowledge-based economic development. Along with that, it is necessary to continue promoting the role of youth in participating in green energy conversion, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable ecological agriculture and rural development.

Opinions also said that the document needs to add specific mechanisms for young people to participate in giving opinions, monitoring and criticizing policies; considering empowerment, assigning tasks and evaluating practical results as methods to train and develop young cadres.

Giving opinions at the conference, the representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union proposed that the document should include a specific mechanism to give the youth union tools to promote startups and innovation such as capital sources, training programs, training and establishing youth startup incubation centers; promoting digital skills training programs, digital transformation and artificial intelligence for the young workforce, especially talented young people in various fields.

The representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union also suggested that the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress should have a mechanism to care for and support young workers - a large force in industrial parks and export processing zones; and add solutions to support young people in rural and mountainous areas to access digital education and green jobs, in order to reduce inequality between regions.

Concluding the conference, comrade Bui Quang Huy, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, said that the comments will be compiled for the 14th Party Congress Document Subcommittee on schedule, quality and responsibility.
