Implementing the Project to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Yen Son district in the period of 2024 - 2025, Tan Long commune has reviewed the subjects, there are 31 households in 10 villages who are poor, near-poor households and other subjects with housing difficulties are supported to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses according to the project, of which 26 new houses are built, 5 houses are repaired. Up to now, 100% of households have started construction, house repair and completed and put into use.

Comrade Hoang Thi Hang, Vice Chairman of Tan Long Commune People's Committee said, "In order for people to settle down and find jobs soon as well as reach the finish line earlier than the set plan, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune have focused on implementing the program resolutely and synchronously. We have taken advantage of support from the Central, the province and the district and promoted the spirit of "The State and the people work together". The People's Committee of the commune coordinates with the district's Social Policy Bank to create conditions for people to borrow capital according to Decree No. 28/2022/ND-CP of the Government on preferential credit policies to implement the National Target Program on socio -economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2021 - 2030. The commune assigns members and teams to be specifically responsible for each village and household, and at the same time sets out goals and completion time for construction, along with strengthening inspection of the progress and quality of house construction".
These days, Mrs. Ma Thi Ha, village 3, is cleaning, wiping and choosing a good day to hold a ceremony to move into a new house. As an ethnic minority household, without a stable job, and with her main income coming from a few fields, her life has encountered many difficulties. The makeshift house built with bamboo and rattan poles from many years ago is rickety and dilapidated, especially in the rainy season. Thanks to the attention of the district, commune, brothers and sisters and people in the village, she has built a new house worth over 200 million VND. Mrs. Ha confided, “I am really touched that the State is interested in supporting the cost of building new houses for households like me. From now on, rain or shine, I can rest assured. This is the long-standing desire and aspiration of my family.”
The house of Ms. Ly Thi Lam's family in village 6, started construction in early April 2025, and is being walled up to be completed by the end of May. Ms. Lam excitedly said: "Even in my dreams, I never dared to think that I would soon have a new house to live in. During the construction process, my family was regularly visited, encouraged, and helped by the militia and villagers with a lot of workdays. I am very happy, having a new house is also a motivation for me and my family members to try harder and make more efforts to improve our income, gradually improving the quality of life."
Comrade Nguyen Thu Phuc, Chairman of the Commune Fatherland Front Committee shared: “The process of implementing the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor has brought about effectiveness, spreading positive values in the community. Funds are managed publicly, transparently, allocated correctly and to the right targets. The Commune Fatherland Front Committee established the “Fund for the poor to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses” with more than 30 million VND to help poor households. At the same time, effectively implementing the 3 movement with the people every Sunday, so far supporting over 543 working days for households to repair and build new ones. The Commune Fatherland Front Committee always coordinates with groups of workers in the area to speed up the progress of house construction, in order to help households with housing difficulties quickly settle down, adding motivation to improve their lives”.
Up to now, Tan Long commune has completed and put into use 10 new houses, 21 houses are under construction and repair, the commune has accelerated the construction progress. The commune strives to complete the construction of houses before June 30 to hand over to the people. Each new house not only helps a poor household have a stable place to live but is also an important step for Tan Long to more effectively implement the targets and tasks of local economic and social development.
