Dong Nai has more than 21,400 candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam, a sharp decrease compared to last year.

(DN) - On May 13, the Department of Education and Training announced the number of candidates registering to take the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, more than 21,400 students who have completed secondary school have registered to take the entrance exam to grade 10 at 21 public high schools that organize exams in the province. Compared to last year's exam, this year's public high school entrance exam has decreased by more than 4,800 candidates.

For candidates wishing to take the exam for specialized classes at Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted (Bien Hoa City), there were a total of 2,363 candidates registered for the exam. Of these, the largest number of candidates registered for the English specialized class with 883 candidates, followed by the Math specialized class with 564 candidates, and the third was the Literature specialized class with 557 candidates.

The entrance exam for grade 10 of the 2025-2026 school year will take place on May 30 and 31. Candidates will take three subjects: Math, Literature, and English. Candidates taking the exam for specialized classes at Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted will take an additional exam for a corresponding specialized subject, with a test time of 150 minutes.

This year, the Departmentof Education and Training allows 21 high schools to organize entrance exams for grade 10 public high schools, with an enrollment target of over 11,000 candidates, more than previous years. For the remaining public and private high schools that do not organize entrance exams, admission will be based on junior high school transcripts.

It is forecasted that admission to grade 10 high school in preparation for the 2025-2026 school year will significantly reduce pressure compared to previous years, because this year the number of students completing grade 9 will decrease by about 20,000 students.

The Department of Education and Training is inspecting and reviewing the facilities of high schools to be able to assign more enrollment quotas, creating opportunities for more students to enter grade 10 at public high schools.
