According to the Provincial People's Committee, the roadmap for building resettlement areas in the province will be divided into 4 phases. In 2025, 13 projects will be implemented to build resettlement areas. Currently, out of 13 resettlement areas planned to be built in 2025, 6 resettlement areas have started construction. Next, in 2026, Dong Nai plans to start building 30 more resettlement areas.

During the period of 2027-2028, Dong Nai province will build 24 more resettlement areas and during the period of 2029-2030, according to plan, there will be 22 more resettlement areas.

According to preliminary calculations, the total cost to implement 89 projects to build resettlement areas in the province is more than 10.3 trillion VND. This total investment capital is calculated based on the total resettlement needs of localities and the construction investment capital rate, the total construction price of the structural components of the project in 2024 announced by the Ministry of Construction in Decision No. 409/QD-BXD (dated April 11, 2025) announcing the construction investment capital rate and the total construction price of the structural components of the project in 2024.

Previously, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to synthesize reports on resettlement needs of localities and units in the province when implementing projects in the period from 2026 to 2030. The synthesis results show that the total resettlement needs in the province during this period are more than 47 thousand resettlement plots (it is expected that each resettlement plot has an average area of 100m2 and the residential land area accounts for an average of about 45% of the land use structure of resettlement areas and urban areas).

According to the Provincial People's Committee, to ensure resettlement for people whose land is recovered, Dong Nai province aims to build resettlement areas with the total number of resettlement plots greater than or equal to the total number of households affected when implementing the projects.
