Dong Nai High-Tech Park needs to focus on specificity in attracting investment

(DN) - On the morning of October 7, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son chaired a meeting with the Management Board of Industrial Parks, Economic Zones and relevant departments, branches and units to listen to a report on the Project to establish Dong Nai High-Tech Park.

According to the Draft Project to establish Dong Nai High-Tech Park, the proposed planning project is located in Xuan Duong commune, Dong Nai province, a convenient location connecting to Long Thanh Airport, Ho Chi Minh City and other areas; with an area of ​​about 493 hectares.

The function of the high-tech park is to create a favorable environment for research and development of high technology, linking businesses with institutes and schools, supporting green technology, renewable energy and promoting international cooperation and technology transfer. The task is to develop infrastructure to serve the high-tech industry, implement investment incentive policies, promote research and development cooperation between businesses - institutes - schools, and develop high-quality human resources.

The top priority industries include: information technology, electronics, automation, aviation technology, and artificial intelligence technology. The proposed investment and development roadmap includes 3 phases: Preparation phase (2025-2026); infrastructure investment phase (2026-2027); operation and investment attraction phase (2027-2030).

To complete the project, the Management Board of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Nai province has sent a document to solicit comments from relevant departments, branches, units and localities to have a basis for developing the content.

At the meeting, representatives of departments and branches also contributed additional opinions on investment plans; policies to attract businesses; contents and regulations of the State related to high-tech zones...

Speaking at the working session, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son noted that Dong Nai High-Tech Park, when built, should have its own characteristics compared to existing projects of other provinces and cities to create advantages in attracting investment. Based on the comments of departments and branches, the Management Board of industrial parks and economic zones coordinates with consulting units to synthesize, review and explain as a basis for implementing the project content. Accordingly, it is necessary to rely on provincial planning, land use planning, and specialized planning to update the project before submitting it to the Provincial People's Committee and competent authorities for comments.
