Thereby, ensuring that 100% of fishing vessels entering and leaving ports are implemented on the electronic traceability software system for exploited aquatic products; 100% of receipt issuance records are implemented on the electronic traceability software system for exploited aquatic products.
By the end of June 2025, the fishing port had carried out 6,573 fishing vessel departures and arrivals on the electronic seafood traceability software system.
Up to now, the whole province has 910/910 ships with installed voyage monitoring devices in operation, reaching 100%; there are 37 ships that have not installed voyage monitoring devices (of which 1 ship sold outside the province is undergoing deregistration procedures according to regulations and 36 ships are anchored at home ports, moored on shore, waiting to be sold, repaired, or stopped operating).
Implementing Official Dispatch No. 122/CD-TTg dated July 25, 2025 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the fight against IUU, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province has just issued Official Dispatch No. 352 on implementing urgent and key tasks and solutions to combat IUU fishing and remove the EC's "Yellow Card" warning.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province requested the heads of agencies, units and localities, according to their assigned functions and tasks, to continue to seriously implement the directives on combating IUU fishing and removing the EC's "Yellow Card" warning in Official Dispatch No. 251 dated July 24, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee. At the same time, urgently focus on leading and directing the implementation of key and urgent tasks.
In particular, the Department of Agriculture and Environment presides over and coordinates with relevant units to advise the Provincial Steering Committee for IUU Prevention to approve a peak plan to mobilize resources for propaganda, advocacy, monitoring, and prevention from shore and at sea; promptly handle violations according to the instructions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, to be completed before August 10, 2025. The Department of Agriculture and Environment presides over and coordinates with relevant units to advise the Provincial Steering Committee for IUU Prevention to inspect and urge strict handling of responsibilities of organizations and individuals who do not fulfill their duties in performing public duties, shirk responsibility, avoid responsibility, delay or fail to handle IUU fishing violations, to be completed before August 25, 2025.
The Provincial Military Command presides over and coordinates with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Provincial Police, and the Commune People's Committees to conduct a peak period of patrolling, controlling, and handling fishing vessels at river mouths, canals, and seaports; especially at the two fishing ports of My Tho and Vam Lang.
At the same time, preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to focus on investigating, verifying, consolidating records, and administratively sanctioning all cases of fishing vessels registered in the area that have seriously violated IUU fishing from 2024 to present; update the sanction results to the database of administrative sanctions for the fisheries sector; and handle criminal cases if there are signs of violations.
Along with that, resources are focused on border posts and stations to patrol and control fishing vessels entering and leaving ports; ensure that fishing vessels leaving ports through border posts and stations to participate in fishing activities must have a confirmation of departure from the fishing port; vessels entering ports through border posts and stations must be notified to the fishing port, the commune police, and local authorities for control and handling if they do not dock to unload exploited aquatic products according to regulations; do not allow fishing vessels that do not meet the conditions to participate in activities...
